Optical solitons plays a vital role in the area of nonlinear optics and mathematical physics. The
integrity of the solitons growth and control in optical fiber makes them robust in many fields of
sciences and valuable in optics. In optical continuum generation, solitons are important and can be
used to transfer information over very large distances. Optical solitons are important in nonlinear
optics and they provide stimulus to work in diverse areas of photonics. In the last few decades, the
study of nonlinear Schr¨odinger equations becomes a hot topic of the research area. These equations
are very useful in the areas of physics such as plasma physics, superconductivity, nonlinear optics,
biophysics, star formation, and quantum mechanics, and so on [1–6]. Many researchers have been
developed various techniques to obtain exact solutions of nonlinear Schr¨odinger equation. Some of
the techniques are known as the tanh-coth method [7], the unified Riccati equation method [8], the
new extended auxiliary equation method [9], Lie symmetry analysis [10, 11] the generalized logistic
equation method [12], extended trial equation method [13], F-expansion method [14], generalized
method [15], the improved tan( )-expansion method [16], Improved tan expansion
method and wave ansatz method [17] and so on.
In the last few decades, many researchers have studied this model by various techniques, some of
which are as follows: In 2018 Biswas and Arshed [18], introduced a new model in which the self-
phase modulation was negligibly small for soliton transmission through optical fibers. To attain optical
soliton solutions of the proposed model authors applied the approach of traveling wave transformation
and exp( ) technique. In [19] Inc et al. studied the Biswas- Arshed equation by using the ansatz
method to extract bright-dark soliton solutions. This study involves the problem in the absence of
selfphase, and velocity dispersion is negligibly small. In the end, it is shown that the considered
equation possesses conservation laws. Jamilu et. al. [20] utilized the auxiliary equation method to
established the new exact solitons solutions of the proposed problem. These solutions are used to study
soliton dynamics in optical fibers, pivotal cloud foundry (PCF), and metamaterials. In continuation
Ekici and Sonmezoglu [21] studied the two nonlinear forms for the Biswas-Arshed model namely,
Kerr type and power-law form by taking the advantage of the extended trial function method which
provides the dark, bright and singular soliton solutions. Yildirim [22] studied the Biswas-Arshed
equation by taking advantage of three different techniques namely, modified simple equation method,
trial equation integration architecture, and extended Kudryashov’s method to locate significant
solitons solutions. The obtained solutions are known as singular solitons solution, singular periodic
solutions, dark soliton solutions, bright soliton solution, etc. Hosseini [23] et al. adopted the Jacobi and
Kudryashov methods to obtain the solitons and other solutions of the Biswas-Arshed equation with the
beta time derivative in the presence of high order dispersions.
They examined the importance of the parameter via three-dimensional plots of dark and bright
solitons for the suitable range space. In the article [24] Tahir and Awan employed the first integral and
functional variable methods to deal with two nonlinear forms of the Biswas-Arshed model via the Kerr
law and power-law nonlinearity that gave solitary wave solutions, singular periodic wave solutions,
shock wave solutions, and singular wave solutions. Recently, Xu et al. [25] worked on the mentioned
equation, which compensates for the group velocity dispersion (GVD) by the dispersion of time and
space. The propagation patterns of the model are described by the complete discriminant system for
the polynomial method when the GVD and non-linearity are taken to be very small. In this case, the
dynamical representation of solutions of the Biswas-Arshed equation shows a rich verity, which
includes some patterns such as the singular rational patterns, solitary wave patterns, singular periodic
patterns, and double periodic patterns.
Main motive of the current study is to deal with the Biswas-Arshed equation by taking advantage of
two different techniques, namely, the generalized exponential rational function (GERF) technique and
the Simplest equation technique. These techniques are very fruitful and straightforward that provide
various kind of families of solutions. First, we apply the GERF technique which provides six families
of solutions involving trigonometric solutions, solitary wave solutions, multi-soliton solutions,
hyperbolic function solutions, exponential function solutions, kink wave solutions, the interaction of
solitary wave solutions with the soliton solutions, etc. Thereafter, we implement the Simplest equation
method to the mentioned equation, which provides three sets of solution involving dark soliton
solutions, trigonometric solutions, exponential solutions, and interaction of kink wave with solitons,
etc. This research article is divided into the following sections: Section 1, includes the introductory
part of the Biswas-Arshed equation. In section 2, we write the key points of the generalized
exponential rational function technique. After that, in section 3, we present the algorithm of the
simplest equation method. In sections 4 and 5, we implemented the GERF techniques and the Simplest
equation method on the mentioned equation. We discussed the dynamical behavior of some obtained
solutions under the suitable choice of the involved parameters in section 6. In the last section 7, we
present the conclusion of this study.
