PEOPLE THROW GARBAGE IN THE SEA OF GUNTUNG RIVER

Introduction

In The Guntung River of Indragiri District downstream, environmental

cleanliness is a big problem in some communities. Environmental cleanliness is
one of the benchmarks of people's quality of life. The marine ecosystem of the
Guntung River is already very polluted, garbage that accumulates even floats
around the sea.

Causes of environmental pollution

Indragiri village downstream, especially the kateman subdistrict sea has

become a landfill by the community and has even become a habit of the
community. Though many bad effects that will occur when the occurrence of ups
and downs that have been common in every beginning of the year and the end of
the year. Not only that public health will also be disrupted because of this very
dirty environmental pollution, no wonder if children are prone to falling ill such as
fever and diarrhea.

Garbage becomes the main problem that occurs in the guntung river.
Public awareness about the garbage that is considered still very lacking, such as
the lack of landfills in the village of guntung river. . This habit causes the flow of
the river to settle and environmental pollution occurs. This causes flooding and
makes the environment dirty.

How to overcome the habits of people who pollute the environment:

- Make a garbage can with existing tools such as used buckets, then
overhauled into garbage cans

- Make a plang prohibition of littering in places that are often polluted

- Students socialize to the community about environmental pollution to the

people of guntung river

Conclusion

Every community has a responsibility to keep their homes clean from

environmental pollution. The impact of waste for humans and the environment is
environmental pollution due to industrial waste and other waste is very
detrimental to humans, both directly and indirectly. While the impact of waste for
the environment is the change in biological aquatic ecosystems due to the number
of fish dying due to the seepage of garbage that enters the sea. Waste that is
thrown into the water will produce organic acids and organic liquid gases such as
metaba. Every individual is expected to always maintain the surrounding
environment, the government should also take steps to create public awareness.
