Statement of Purpose

I was introduced to Finance as a subject when I was pursuing my degree in Economics. Ever
since, the concept of finance has continued to amaze me in numerous ways. I have been
trying to find a platform to broaden my understanding of finance and its applications until
now. I strongly believe that being a part of Finance and Investment Club would increase my
awareness and knowledge with respect to this field.

Being an Economics graduate, I have a better understanding of how the economy works.
Though I haven’t done finance as a separate course, I do possess some basic understanding
regarding the functioning of primary and secondary markets, business cycle and market
trends. Having studied Economics with Statistics would assist me in analysing the real time
data. This skill would greatly be of use for the publications vertical of FIC. I have organised
and co-ordinated events and fests during college which paved a way to sharpen my leadership
and inter-personal skills.

I believe that being a part of this committee would help me interact with experts in the field
of finance and gain first hand information about workforce requirements. I would gain
knowledge about different opportunities that are in the field of Finance and develop the skills
required to master it. Organising events and interacting with different stalwarts would also
improve my communication skills. I would get to work with people with similar interest in
finance. Working with people from diverse background would help me analyse and view the
situation from different perspectives.

If I am given an opportunity to be a part of FIC, I assure that I would give my best and
contribute significantly to the club and its activities.
