Tour Guide Type: CITY/URBAN GUIDES AND DRIVER GUIDES
Similarities
 Usually, city urban guides and driver guides
tour participants are in a vehicle.
 Most of the time both of these tour guides are
very familiar with the city where they work, to
effectively share worthwhile information’s
with tourists.
 They guide tourist and at the same time shares
about the informational background of a place.
 Both of them are an outdoor type of tour.
 These types of tour guide point out and
comments on the highlights of a city.
 Driver guides can also be called as the city
urban guides.
 Provides a worthwhile experience for guests
with their knowledges and skills within their
chosen destinations.
 Shows a good organizational skill to cater
group of people where they have to be flexible
enough in making their jobs be well done.

Differences
 City/Urban guide guides its participants where
they are usually in a motor, coach, minibus, or
a van. While driver guides do it both, they act
as a driver and at the same time acts as tour
guides.
 By being a driver guide you’ll get a chance to
make the most out of being just a tour guide
by having an alternative income as a driver as
well. Rather than being a city/urban guide
where you had a driver along your side.
 Usually, driver guides are not professional
licensed tour guides unlike the city/urban
guide. But can still provide you with the most
important information’s.
 City/Urban guide shares more of the
informational history of a place. On the other
hand, driver guides do commentaries or
narration and explanation about the sites or
attractions.
