The Sumatera elephant is one of the largest and strongest animals. The species is 1,7 to 2,6
meters in height. It is smaller than the African elephant. This Sumatera elephant is rare because
of forest loss in Sumatera. Its existence is threatened by irresponsible hunting, deforestation, and
natural disasters. The Sumatera elephants live near rivers or the lowlands in Sumatera. They
consume more than 200 kilograms of food every day. The presence of elephants means that there
are sufficient resources to support their life. It means that balanced natural conditions are there.
They can keep this ecosystem by walking in a group, as their wasted feces, every hour, can
fertilize the ground naturally.

Nowadays, there are many organizations interested in protecting Sumatera elephants. Because
human conflict is another threat to this species, the World Wildlife Foundation and other
conservation organizations are established to protect them from such conflicts. In this way,
Sumatera elephants will live peace.
