JANTAR MANTAR
Jantar Mantar is the one of the mathematical place in India. The word
Jantra is derived from yantra, instrument, while the suffix Mantar is
derived from Mantrana meaning consult or calculate.
It includes a set of some 20 main fixed instruments. They are
monumental examples in masonry of known instruments but which in
many cases have specific characteristics of their own.
The Jantar Mantar is one of the best examples of geometrical
interpretations being used in the monuments and how geometry can
be used astronomically in buildings.

let us first know about
Jantar Mantar...
brihat samrat yantra(right
angled triangle)
As we can see that the samrat yantra is in the form of a right angled
triangle to calculate the local time traditionally
The essential parts of the Samrat Yantra are the gnomon, a triangular
wall with its hypotenuse parallel to earth’s axis, and a pair of quadrants
on either side, lying parallel to the plane of the equator. On a clear day, as
the sun passes from east to west, the shadow of the gnomon falls on the
scale of the quadrant, indicating local time

Chakra Yantra(semicircular arcs)
The chakra yantra as the name suggest is formed out of the four circular arcs
which again helps in calculating local time in different parts of the world
Four semicircular arcs on which a gnomon casts a shadow, thereby giving the
declination of the Sun at four specified times of the day. This is equivalent of a
wall of clocks registering local times in different parts of the world.
