Quarter 1 Module 1 Activity 2
Quarter 1 Module 1 Activity 2
Each of the three types of plate boundaries is distinctive from each other. The divergent plate boundaries, like the African
and South American Plates, are moving away from one other. The convergent plate boundaries, like the Philippine and
Eurasian Plates, are moving toward one other. The transform plate boundary, like the North American and Pacific Plates, is
slipping past each other.
2. How will you explain the process that occur along convergent, divergent, and transform fault boundary?
The three types of plate boundaries have different processes. As the plates pull apart, the divergent plate boundaries
produces new crust. When one plate sinks beneath another, it destroys the crust and recycles it back into the earth's
interior, it is called convergent plate boundary. As the plates move horizontally from each other, the transform fault
boundary neither builds nor destroys crust.
Starting with how plate boundaries move, I discovered that divergent plate boundaries move away from each other,
convergent plate boundaries move toward each other, and transform plate boundaries slip past each other. I also learnt
about the processes that occur as a result of their movements, as well as the geologic features that follow .
I'm happy to note that nothing about the topic has baffled me thus far; we've been studying these topics since primary
school, and things just keep repeating themselves every school year; it's just a form of recall, and there will always be
additional information, which is how these topics continue to stay interesting.
