Living Your Purpose
Discovering your purpose
God has created you with an incredible, personal and unique purpose.
He has given you the gifts and talents (special abilities) to live out this purpose with
wealth and success in this life.
It is up to us to seek Him to find out what this purpose is and to intentionally and
intimately work with God to bring this purpose and vision into reality in our lives.
Once you discover your purpose and commit to living it out, it will perpetually guide you
from wealthy place to wealthy place, with the contentment, joy, and fulfillment that
only God can provide.
The power of discovering God’s purpose in our lives
Esther 4:14 (Amplified Bible) – For if you remain silent at this time, liberation and rescue
will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish
[since you did not help when you had the chance]. And who knows whether you have
attained royalty for such a time as this [and for this very purpose]?”
Esther 4:16 (AMP) – “Go, gather all the Jews that are present in Susa, and observe a fast
for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids also will fast in
the same way. Then I will go in to [see] the king [without being summoned], which is
against the law; and if I perish, I perish.”
Philippians 3:10‐11 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition) – [For my determined purpose is]
that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately
acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His
Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know
the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I
may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness
even] to His death, [in the hope] [11] That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and
moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].
Habakkuk 2:2 (King James Version) – And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the
vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth
the law, happy is he.
Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV) – For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall
speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
God has equipped you with the grace to succeed.
1 Corinthians 3:6 (AMPC) – I planted, Apollos watered, but God [all the while] was
making it grow and [He] gave the increase.
1 Corinthians 3:9‐11 (AMPC) – For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers
together) with and for God; you are God’s garden and vineyard and field under
cultivation, [you are] God’s building. [10] According to the grace (the special endowment
for my task) of God bestowed on me, like a skillful architect and master builder I laid
[the] foundation, and now another [man] is building upon it. But let each [man] be
careful how he builds upon it, [11] For no other foundation can anyone lay than that
which is [already] laid, which is Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
Our gifts and talents are from God.
1 Peter 4:10 (AMP) – Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual
talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is
appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi‐faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse,
varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor].
James 1:17 (AMP) – Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes
down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom
there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect
and never changes].
Relax . . . We do not own these gifts.
Since our gifts and talents are from God and for His purpose, we can relax knowing that
He values what He gives. We do not need to fear that we will be overlooked or
undervalued.
As we rest in this truth, it empowers us to work and live out of a place of confidence
instead of fear of man.
Proverbs 29:25 (AMP) – The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in and puts
his confidence in the Lord will be exalted and safe.
Success and satisfaction are linked to purpose.
Joshua 3:5 (AMP) – Then Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves [for His
purpose], for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders (miracles) among you.”
John 15:16 (AMP) – You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have
appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit
and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you
ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you.
Romans 8:28 (AMP) – And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply
concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those
who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.
Abundance resulting from gifts and talents is God’s idea.
Matthew 25:29 (AMP) – For to everyone who has [and values his blessings and gifts from
God, and has used them wisely], more will be given, and [he will be richly supplied so
that] he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have [because he has
ignored or disregarded his blessings and gifts from God], even what he does have will be
taken away.
Working out your purpose provides the opportunity to live in perpetual success and
satisfaction.
Proverbs 19:21 (CEB) – Many plans are in a person’s mind, but the Lord’s purpose will
succeed.
Deuteronomy 8:16‐18 (AMPC) – Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your
fathers did not know, that He might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end.
[17] And beware lest you say in your [mind and] heart, My power and the might of my
hand have gotten me this wealth. [18] But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your
God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant
which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Isaiah 61:6 (AMP) – But you shall be called the priests of the Lord; People will speak of
you as the ministers of our God. You will eat the wealth of nations, And you will boast of
their riches.
Good Root = Good Fruit
Seek to understand God’s purpose for you and live out of that purpose with all your
endeavors.
Aim for your purpose to be fulfilled, and opportunities will chase you down!
Trust God to bring the harvest in your life.
