Descriptions and Operations

Power Brake Control

Power brake control contains following components:
● Vacuum
 booster
● Vacuum
 pump (equipped with diesel engines)
● Vacuum
 sensor
● Vacuum
 passage
● Non-return
 valve (equipped with diesel engines)
Vacuum Booster
● Reduce
 brake pedal pressure.
● Located
at the left side of the partition board
in engine compartment, between brake pedal
and brake master cylinder.
● If
the vacuum is limited or some vacuum-
related components of power brake fail,
vacuum booster will not work properly.
● It
must be replaced as an assembly.
If the vacuum booster fails, brake system can still
work with increased brake pedal force.
Non-return Valve - equipped with Diesel Engines
Non-return valve for vacuum booster:
● Located
 on the vacuum booster.
● Closed
when the vacuum source is switched off.
● In
the closed position, the vacuum booster
withholds the vacuum of the engine.
●
After the engine is off, the vacuum reserved
can supply power brake for several times.
Vacuum Pump - equipped with Diesel Engines
● Can’t
be repaired individually, when replaced a
new generator must be installed.
● Supply
vacuum source for the vacuum system.
Vacuum sensor
● Installed
 on the vacuum booster.
● When
vacuum within the booster is below the
specified value, the vacuum sensor is switched
on, thus causing buzzer alarm.
