 About the Event
The organizing committee invites you to participate in the 85th Annual session of Indian Ceramic Society (InCerS)
in conjunction with 47th Annual Session of IIC and 73rd Annual Session of AIPMA during 13-14, December, 2021.
This year the Annual session will be held at PDA College of Engineering, Kalaburagi, Karnataka-585102 and is
organized by Indian Ceramic Society, Karnataka Chapter. The Annual session includes an International Virtual
Conference on “Advances in Ceramics & Cement Technologies: Materials & Manufacturing”. The objective of
the conference is to share and exchange ideas on research and development in the above fields and its applications
in industries. Due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, except the inaugural and valedictory events all other technical
sessions will be held in virtual mode. Researchers, Scientists, Professors, Students and Industry personnel from
different parts of the country and abroad will share their experience in these areas to create a platform for futuristic
collaborations between Research Institutes, Universities and Industry. In this conference, different technical
sessions will be organized with invited and contributory lectures by eminent speakers in their respective fields like
glass, cement & ceramic materials. There will be two special sessions viz: (1) Manufacturing & material issues in
Cement Industries (2) Entrepreneurship & Start ups in Ceramic field that will be held in this conference. We hope
this conference will promote basic understanding and ultimately enable advancements in multiple sectors, including
energy, environment, manufacturing, security and health care.

About Indian Ceramic Society

Indian Ceramic Society (InCerS), a non-profit organization, in the fields of ceramic industry and education, was
established in the year 1928 with the blessings and active support of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, the main
architect for establishing the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, and with the ardent efforts of a few
dedicated leaders, namely, Sirdar Krishen Singh (Inaugural Chairman), Mr T. W. Talwalkar (Inaugural Secretary),
Mr Satyasundar Deb (First President) and Dr N. N. Godbole (the then Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu
University). Indian Ceramic Society was founded with the primary objective of promoting friendship and co-
operation among all those who are engaged in the manufacturing of ceramic products or in teaching of ceramics or
in any other way connected with ceramics and interested in the advancement of knowledge, art and technology
connected therewith. The Society has 13 Chapters with a membership of over 2000. The quarterly publication of the
Society, ‘Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society’ is co-published with Taylor & Francis Group (T&F), UK.
Recently, Indian Ceramic Society has come up to a collaborative partnership with American Ceramic Society for

About Indian Ceramic Society Karnataka Chapter

Indian Ceramic Society Karnataka Chapter (ICSKC), a registered non -profit body (erstwhile Indian Ceramic
Society Bangalore Chapter started in 1977) is one of the very active chapters and has won the coveted Best Chapter
award many times (10 times in last 2 decades). The chapter also boasts of several other awards to members, which
includes young scientist award, Refractory Technologies Award, RL Thakur memorial Award, etc., ICSKC has a
membership of more than 200 ceramic and advanced material professionals drawn from academics, research and

AIPMA was founded in the year 1948 by a group of entrepreneurs, led by Mr M. G. Bhagat, a pioneer industrialist
of the country. It is the forum for promoting and exchanging knowledge in ceramic industry in India and to
encourage its members to be partner in the development of pottery industry. The main objectives of AIPMA are to

Indian Institute of Ceramics (IICERAM), a society of professionals engaged in the diverse activities relating to
Ceramics was established in the year 1973. The major objectives of the Institute are to promote and advance the
