CASE STUDY

Lakshya is a group of young people united by a shared spirit, belief, hope, and desire to assist
the people of India in general in finding work and breaking free from the shackles of
unemployment, as we have a dream – a dream of a fully employed India.
"Create responsible individuals and communities that are well informed and self-sufficient,"
their mission states.
The team is attempting to realise its goal of working with people to solve their problems and,
as a result, delivering long-term change to society through a variety of programmes.
Some of these programmes are-

Computer Training:

We rely largely on computerised technology in today's world since it increases work

efficiency. Having computer literacy gives an individual an edge in the job market. Lakshya,
in conjunction with BHUMI, offers computer classes to children from low-income families.

Spoken English:
Despite the fact that English is the most widely spoken language on the planet, just 10% of
Indians can communicate in it.

Reading and writing English in the twenty-first century, which opens up a wider range of
professional options, remains a far-fetched ideal for many.

Lakshya's mission is to reach out to the underserved in our society and provide them with an
equitable opportunity to improve and expand their English vocabulary.
Handicraft:

Lakshya strives to develop handicraft skills and culture among the minds of the next
generation in this age of digitization.
In our economy's rural and semi-rural sectors, handicraft continues to be a source of
employment generation. Lakshya has established handicraft lessons with the goal of exposing
youngsters to different crafts and expanding their employment options.

Mehendi Art:

There has been an increase in the number of mehendi designers in our country, despite the
fact that it is not well acknowledged.
Mehendi has aided many women and men in earning a living around the country. Given our
goal of increasing the number of people employed. We at Lakshya have been promoting this
art and assisting students in developing skills that would enable them to earn a fair income in
the long run.
Stitching:

Stitching has traditionally been seen as a valuable life skill that has not only provided work
for many but also taught people how to improve their motor skills, focus, and concentration.
Lakshya's goal is to not only assist youngsters in developing their skills, but also to teach
them how to capitalise on them.

Food Drive:
The pandemic, together with the ensuing lockdown, decimated society as a whole, affecting
not only household income but also individual nutrition intake. The objective was to reach
out to these people and serve them with complimentary cooked meals that were nutritious
and wholesome. The majority of the funds were generated through crowdfunding.
The aim at Lakshya is to help people become self-sufficient and break free from the shackles
of unemployment. Despite the fact that our country has the largest number of youngsters, the
percentage of unemployed youth has continued to rise over time. The majority of children
living on the outskirts of cities lack certain amenities and regard them as a luxury that may
appear to be a requirement for those living in urban areas.
With the goal of bridging this gap, the teams are reaching out to impoverished children and
women and giving them with vocation training and exposure to skill development courses
that will help them live a better life.
OBSERVATIONS
Conclusion

Different portions of society have different day-to-day challenges to cope with, and some
problems that look minor to one section of society often become a matter of life and death for
another. With the right help and guidance, the impoverished can improve their situation.
Furthermore, education is not solely confined to books. Students with diverse skills such as
sports, handicraft, music, acting, and so on are included in the broader perspective of
education. As volunteers, it was difficult to connect with a significant number of people due
to the pandemic. The government might help the poor connect to basic services by providing
them with subsidized/free tablets and restricted data packs.
Thus, it is necessary to support such efforts by NGOs like Lakshya so that we can ensure that
each section of the society is able to make a better life for themselves.
In addition to the efforts undertaken by Lakshya, we firmly believe that similar campaigns
must be undertaken everyone of us thus contributing towards the betterment of the society.
