Thank you for purchasing the TouchTrainer™ by FlyThisSim. We take pride in providing you with one of the most
advanced personal flight trainers on the market. Before we shipped the TouchTrainer to you, we pre-configured all of
the software, calibrated all of the hardware, and tested the whole assembled system. However, we had to disassemble
it for shipping, so there are a there are a few preflight checks that need to be done. In about 45 minutes or less, you
should be ready for takeoff in your brand new TouchTrainer™.
Please be aware that because we are always improving our product, so there may be minor differences between your
system and the one shown in this document.

Section 2: Assembly
TouchTrainer™ Base
Your TouchTrainer™ comes mostly pre-wired. The only thing you need to do is to feed the wires through the proper
openings in the base.
There are five main wire harnesses that connect all the components of your TouchTrainer™, shown below in Figure 1:

1) Affix the throttle to the throttle bracket using the four black machine screws included with your throttle
(Figure 4)
2) Plug the throttle USB to the USB extender cable in the marked location (Figure 5).

Handle
1) Place the pedals underneath the table or desk you will be using. Depending on your floor surface, you may need
to use the included Velcro strips or place a rubber mat underneath the pedals. This is to keep the pedals from
slipping.
2) Adjust the tension in the pedals to a setting that feels comfortable. A good rule of thumb is to increase the
tension until the controls feel too heavy, then loosen the tension a quarter turn or so (Figure 7).

3) Pull the USB cable up the backside of your desk or table and set it aside for now. If needed, you can use the USB
extension cable provided.
TouchTrainer™ Computer
WARNING: Before you attach the power cable to your TouchTrainer™ computer, please check that the power supply
input voltage matches your country’s standards (115V for North and Central America, 230V for Europe and Asia). Failure
to do so will lead to catastrophic failure (Figure 8)

2) Attach the joystick USB cable to the joystick harness, feed the remaining cable through the hole, and place the
joystick into the slot (Figure 16).
3) Screw in the two bracket clamps into the pre-drilled holes in the upper-right and lower left corners of the slot
(Figure 17). This keeps the joystick from moving when performing extreme maneuvering.
Congratulations, your TouchTrainer™ is now completely assembled. You’re now ready to power up your TouchTrainer™
computer and start flying.
Section 3: Startup
You’re almost done. The last thing to do is to check that everything was installed properly. The TouchTrainer™ system
makes this very easy for you and requires no guesswork.
1) Power on the computer and the TouchTrainer™ Supervisor will auto-start (Figure 18).
2) Swipe through and read the system guidelines.
3) The TouchTrainer™ Supervisor will confirm connection of your external devices with a green indicator in the Real
Time Monitor (Figure 18, upper left-hand corner).
4) If any of the indicators are RED, it must be addressed before starting the TouchTrainer. See the troubleshooting
section on the next page.
Use the touch screen to swipe the supervisor pages through the start-up sequence, reading the limitations and
approvals of your TouchTrainer as you go along. Once you get to the last page, you can double tap the screen. X-Plane
and SimAVIO will automatically start and you’re ready to fly.
Selecting an Aircraft
To set the TouchTrainer up for a session, select the LOAD AIRCRAFT button from the AUX monitor.
A pop-up window will appear allowing you to select the aircraft and panel configuration of your choice. If an aircraft
panel is not displayed, then select File/Open Layout from the SimAVIO window.
This will open the X-Plane IOS window (Error! Reference source not found.). Use the main touch screen, system mouse
and keyboard to:
• Load the correct simulated aircraft for the next session into X-Plane using the “Load Aircraft” button
• Move the simulated aircraft to the desired take-off or airborne location using the “Load Airport” button
• Set the simulated aircraft fuel state and AUW using the “Weight and Fuel” button
• Set the simulated time and weather using the “Set Time” and “Set Weather” buttons respectively.

Sometimes things don’t always go to plan. This section should solve the most common issues encountered by users. On
the desktop, there is a PDF with more detailed instructions. For more complicated problems, feel free to contact
FlyThisSim support.
*Note: a network connection is required for communication between X-Plane and SimAVIO.
