Final Exam 2
Reading [20 points]

Read the text and answer the questions. [5 x 4 = 20 points]

Do you want to visit the coldest place in the

world? Tourists usually visit Antarctica in the
summer because it is never dark then. During
the summer, the sun shines all day and all
night in Antarctica. It is very cold there in the
summer, but not as cold as in the winter. In
the winter, the temperature sometimes goes
down to -80°C and it is always dark – all day
and all night.

Most tourists go to Antarctica by ship. They

usually sleep and eat on the ship, because
there aren’t any hotels in Antarctica.

Tourists can see some amazing animals

when they visit. They always see penguins.
There are thousands of penguins in
Antarctica. They look like little fat men
wearing black suits. These strange birds can’t
fly, but they can swim very well. The biggest
animal in the world also lives in Antarctica –
the blue whale. This sea animal is 30 metres
long and can weigh 100,000 kilos! But only
some tourists are lucky enough to see a blue
whale.

If you want to visit an interesting place,

Antarctica is a great option.
