I Adnan Mehraj from India wants to pursue " Economics " at Paris Saclay University.I have
done B.com honours from one of the leading central universities of India, Cluster University.
After my matriculation, I decided to continue my further studies in Commerce ( economics)
as I was always curious about trade and business activities that my eyes were witnessing
every moment. After passing my secondary education, I got admission in Cluster University
Srinagar in B.com honours. The university campus helped me explore more about myself
and new gates of knowledge were opened for me. I gained much needed insight about
practical aspects of life and business via subjects like Economics, Business Management,
Corporate Accounting, Mathematics, Financial systems Etc. I understood, how big and
innovative industries are managed and how their leaders think, act and innovate on time.
How they see "what is next", and how they make their industry ready for change and use in
their day to day business activities, the learnings and research studies of great souls like
Adam Smith, Amartya Sen, Thomas Malthus, Ibn Khaldun and the likes.

I choose Economics as it is quite relevant to my previous educational background and has a

lot of scope and potential to increase my managerial skills, critical thinking, communication,
analytical ability and enhance my socio-economic capabilities. Besides it, with this program,
I will be able to study and learn the hidden economic management secrets behind
successful giants like Apple, Blackstone, Google, Microsoft, and know about special
ingredients of their economic ethics that sets them apart from their competitors.

After learning the theoretical aspects of public and institutional economics, I used my
knowledge practically by working on many projects during my university days. I worked as
an intern with an NGO "Ekal foundation" as a Management trainee for half a year. I took
part in many competitions, workshops, seminars, academic and non-academic activities.
Apart from this, I also completed many courses offered by Great learning "Financial
Markets' , 'Business Process Management' , 'Marketing Analytics' , 'Introduction to R' and
'Logistics Management" and also from Coursera ' Project Management". I have received
many awards in different fields like Football, Webinars, school competitions.

Economics is of great importance for me to understand why during Covid-19 many

companies had to shut down their businesses and others to expand? What was the reason
that some companies were able to pivot and others not? And how start-ups like Door Dash,
UberEATS, Zoom ruled the market during the pandemic? This program will help me prepare
myself for the long term goal of pursuing my career in teaching and research.

I am the one and only person in my village with Economics degree and where you are
considered educated only if you have a medical or engineering degree. Commerce or
Economics is usually a backup option for the ones who fail to get into engineering or
medicine. This taboo and the conflict going on in my homeland have resulted negatively in
higher education in the field of commerce( economics ). This is not the case in your country.

Leaving one's country and going to study abroad is not so easy as the social and emotional
fears haunt you feebly, but getting an opportunity to pursue higher studies in Paris because
it's renowned for its bustling museums and galleries, its top cuisine, its beautiful
architecture, and its chic fashion. Paris' landmarks are among the most recognizable in the
world: the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, Versailles, the Louvre. From its iconic cafés to famous
monuments, the city has so much to offer! art, food and rich history. The Department of
Economics of Paris Saclay University attracted many students due to its diversified
programmes, the 130th rank of the University around the globe, the premium quality of
education and high opportunities of its students in the market place and economics and it
has the best eco-friendly environment.

I strongly believe that studying at your university will help me fulfil my purpose in life. It is
possible only if you provide me with the scholarship so that I can freely study without
worrying about the tuition fees and accommodation.

Therefore, looking at my past adventures and my future endeavours, kindly consider my

application.
