What is the student learning goal for this lesson idea? I would like my students to be able to
achieve the knowledge of the different parts of a plant and what is needed for the plants to
thrive in an environment.
X Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic for pre-
sentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of learning
will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.
X Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning
and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by dis-
playing the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog,
presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson Idea
Lesson idea implementation: To begin this lesson I will show them my ebook as an ex-
ample to get them understanding the baseline of the lesson. I will make my students
aware of the goal by providing them with thorough instructions on what I would like
to see them do using this technology tool. The students will utilize this technology by
learning how to use it while completing the learning of a standard. As the educator I
will provide the instructions and my example and any help needed during the process
of learning with this technology. I will be able to give feedback to students as they are
working on this to make sure they are on the right track and they will be able to show
the class their stories. To conclude the lesson I will make sure every student knows
what their story is about and what it fully means.
Managing engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that gets students
actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts?
For this activity I will make sure they are aware that they will be co-using a computer with a
partner, therefore their story will have to be collaborated on. This will allow creativity to-
gether to encourage co-engagement while learning on the topic to gain full knowledge. I will
make sure they know how much time they have to complete their story. If noticed being off
task within the collaboration aspect I will make sure they know that they need to finish the
story and if they need new partners that will be arranged.
