Sars-Cov-2 Igg: Test Result Interpretation
Sars-Cov-2 Igg: Test Result Interpretation
SARS-COV-2 IgG
TEST RESULT INTERPRETATION
SARS-COV-2 IgG 18.6 <1.0 :Negative
>1.0:Positive
Method : ELFA
Interpretation :
(1) Positive result means presence of SARS-COV-2 IgG antibody in the blood which
indicates exposure and infection by the virus leading to body developing immune
response.
(2) Negative result for SARS-COV-IgG antibody indicates absence of SARS-COV-2
IgG antibody in the blood. It does not completely rule out the possibility of an
infection with SARS-COV-2
Notes :
(1) The anti SARS-COV-2 IgG test is intended to use as an aid in identifying individuals
with an adaptive immune response to SARS-COV-2,indicating recent, past or prior
infection. The Test is only for SERO-SURVEILLENCE and should not be used to
diagnose SARS-COV2 infection.
(2) The result should always be assessed in conjunction with the patient's medical
history,clinical examination and other findings.
(3) This assay is intended for Qualitative detection only.Index value itself cannot be used
to determine the quantity of SARS-COV-2 IgG antiboies.
(4) The immune response following SARS-COV-2 infection varies considerably and
might give different results with assays from different manufacturer.Result of assays
from different manufacturers should not be used interchangebly.
(5) A negative result can occur if the antibodies for the SARS-COV-2 virus present in the
specimen is below detection limit of the assya, e.g. during the early stage of
illness/window period(Pre seroconversion) or immune response depressed in elderly,
immunocompromised or immunosupressed patient.
