Ed Tech Tools and Technologies

Technology Enhanced Learning uses technology in and outside the classroom to

enhance and increase the effectiveness of the learning experience. It aims to:
 Increase and promote student achievement
 Promote and sustain student engagement
 Extend access and Flexibility to students
 Facilitate student discussion and group work

Technology should not be used for technology’s sake. Technology is most effective
when used for the specific purpose of:
 Improving the learning outcomes for students
 Solving problems for instructors or students

Key Reasons for using Technology

 Improving Learning Outcomes
 Provide access to resources and material not possible in the classroom
 To provide opportunities for continuous improvement through feedback and other
mechanisms
 To make the processes more efficient for the students or professors
The technologies you select should be dependent on our instructional problem and
learning goals. Our Learning Strategy should be built around these problems and
goals.
The most widely used Ed-Tech tools are:
 Video Conferencing software
 Video capture software
 Learning Management System (LMS)
An LMS is the center piece of an institution’s Learning environment, providing the
platform and environment through which the learning delivery happens.
