the truth that some forms of loyalty are undoubtedly
virtuous, and some are absolutely essential for human
flourishing. Itis better to be a good parent than a bad
parent, and a good parent is a loyal parent. A life without
good friendship could hardly be a life of human
flourishing, and a good friend is a loyal friend. To that
extent, the good and flourishing human life is a life of
loyalty.
