"Hak5. (2020). Linux Terminal 201: Networking Commands You Should Know!
[Video]. April 14, 2017.”

In the video, the speaker discusses some of the most important networking
commands for viewing information. These commands will assist you in monitoring
and resolving issues or problems with your computer or network. The command
"ping" is one of the commands discussed in the video. This command examines your
connection and determines whether there are any network issues, such as dropped
packages or high latency. Another one is the "traceroute" command, which displays
the path a packet takes to reach the host. This command is useful if you want to
know the route and all of the hops that a packet takes. This command is primarily
used to assess network configuration and activity. It also displays open ports and
their corresponding addresses on the host device. The final command she discussed
was "host," which is used to process host queries of a domain name and a DNS
server returns an IP address, also known as a "DNS lookup." It also does reverse look
ups to determine the domain name associated with an IP address. To conclude,
these commands are very useful especially to administrators, since it is their
responsibility to diagnose and resolve issues regarding their network.
