1. INTRODUCTION
Since BIM started in the building industry, it has now extended to the infrastructure
industry as well, civil 3D is a well-known software in the civil/infrastructure
engineering community that support computer-aided design(CAD) and building
information modeling(BIM).
this manual represents how to use the civil 3D software to present the gravity
network in 3D professional model.
2. CIVIL 3D CONTENT
To display the gravity network on civil 3D program, you shall follow the below steps;

2.2 Insert Surface
From horizontal table insert land XML select your file open

2.3.1 Information
Insert the project name
2.3.2 Pipes
Right click on (new part list) add part family select the required
pipe material ok

Right click on (selected material) add part size this step will be
happened

2.3.3 Structures
Right click on (new part lists) add part family

Select catch basin type ok
7|Page
Select the required inner structure diameter ok

Select the shape file folder from the below highlighted icon
connect next
Insert the network name and Select (part list & surface) next next

Click add after selected the required shape for pipes
Select &Insert the data which presented in the following table next

A. Manholes
Click add after selected the required shape for manholes
Select &Insert the data which presented in the following table next

B. Catch basins
Click add after selected the required shape for catch basins.
Select &Insert the data which presented in the following table next.

Click () on snap pipe and structure tolerance finish
3. EXPORT TO NAVIES
To solve the conflicts with other utilities using Navies program, export the
gravity model (Civil 3D file) to NWC file (write in the command bar
NWCout).
