Yamoussoukro FP
Urban Forest in the city of Yamoussoukro, Ivoy Coast
[DOS Architects | August 2018]

The aim of the project is to create a natural oasis for the

city of Yamoussoukro, where nature and architecture are
combined in a homogeneous way.
It is proposed to create a peri-urban forest that recovers
an area of 218ha of human deforestation, by planting
native species that coexist with existing local flora and
fauna.
The proposal is approached from the point of view of
territorial planning, due to the immense scale of the in-
tervention, transport infrastructures become one of the
main elements to structure the new spaces.
The programme includes a mini zoo, flora and fauna re-
search and conservation centres, botanical gardens and
seed banks as the main programme that is developed ex-
tensively throughout the territory, incorporating leisure
and recreation spaces that enrich the environment with
citizen activity through the use of both terrestrial and
aquatic parks, sports and leisure facilities.
Al Mouj A05 (1/2)
Residential developement in Muscat, Oman
[DOS Architects | January 2019]

This residential project on the coast of Al Mouj (Muscat)

is composed of 114 apartments with 1 and 2 bedrooms,
user facilities and large gardens facing to the waterway.

The development of the project is carried out within the

municipal regulations strictly defined in the planning of
Al Mouj, which raises the construction of an L-shaped
block with a very delimited mass. That the conceptual
challenge of the project is expressed through the materia-
lity of its facades.

A more rigid envelope is created with a solid finish that

looks towards the access roads and embraces a more
porous volume that is exposed to the side of the canal,
with a more calmed finish that highlights the value of
the building through the use of quality materials from
local origin that reconnect the complex with the values
of the region.
Al Mouj A05 (2/2)
Residential developement in Muscat, Oman
[DOS Architects | January 2019]

Concept development:
1. Set back of the facade in contact with the main street.
2. Second protective skin embraces the facade.
3. The protective skin grows in the corners into towers.
Strategic cuts in the facade that create internal gardens.
4. The exterior façade is treated as a Medina that protects
the internal atrium from the city, providing privacy to
the interior. The interior facade opens onto the atrium
with a completely different language that maximizes its
sea views.
5. The building creates a transition city - landscape - sea.
Acting as a filter before the city, protecting the atrium
landscape and enjoying the opening of the interior facade
to the sea.
6. The atrium will enjoy a pleasant shade during the mor-
ning that will diminish as the day passes.
SEEN Hotel (1/3)
Hotel & residences in Dakar downtown, Senegal
[DOS Architects | May 2018]

This hotel designed for the SEEN brand is located in the

downtown of Dakar and is composed of 20 2-bedroom
apartments, 6 penthouse apartments a restaurant in the
ground floor and a mezzanine level with a bar.
The tasks I performed during the development of the
proposal were very diverse; drawings and constructive
details, the elaboration of an interior design for the res-
taurant and the public areas of the hotel, as well as the
documentation and specification of the components for
the interior design proposal.

This residential project consists of 9 apartments, and in-

cludes a spa, a gym, a shop and a cafe within its levels.

It is characterized by its curved facade, which articulates

a series of openings and terrace spaces that are covered by
a geometric surface with the characteristic colors of the
city’s traditional architecture.

King Square 155
Residential developement in Clerckenwell, London
[DOS Architects | December 2016]

This proposal is a mixed-use development, that in design and

use will be relating to the local area and it’s community.

The building, located on King Square in EC1, London, be-

tween Clerkenwell and Shoreditch is designed to the highest
standard using the London Plan and all relevant SPG do-
cuments including LB Islington’s Urban Design Guide, LB
Islington’s UDP Planning Standards Guidelines, SPD Acce-
sible Housing in Islington, King Square Area Framework +
Action Plan.

The proposal aims to keep the commercial use on the ground

floor and incorporating a total of 24 residential units, as well
as a roof terrace on the fourth level. To divide the residen-
tial floors into apartments, we divide thevolume into 3 equal
parts, which can subdevided into twounits each.

Because the residential units have to be dual aspect it is ne-

cessary to reduce the depth of the building in the central
part.

Deux Plateau
Masterplan development in Ivory Coast
[DOS Architects | August 2016]

The Deux Plateau “Lemania” project is a proposed re-

sidential development located in the suburb of Cocody,
north of Abidjan. Lifestyle plays a vital role in this deve-
lopment. The gated community has different types of ac-
commodation divided in apartments, houses and luxury
villas, creating a prestigious neighbourhood with the best
quality of life for its inhabitants.

The communal green plaza is placed alongside the en-

trance at the heart of the development. Here the residents
will be able to enjoy sport and leisure facilities in a friend-
ly an safe atmosphere.

Each plot counts with its own private garden which pro-
vides comfort and luxury to the residents.

The green area to the South East is treated and maintai-

ned in order to create outdoor leisure and sports zones.
This area acts as a visual and security buffer to the adja-
cent houses.

The project consists in the recovery of a series of obsolete

structures in the center of the city for the creation of a
school and cultural center.

These represent an amalgam of different historical pe-

riods of the city and enclose in their interior the gardens
of the Tower of Don Fadrique, which have been forgot-
ten in the maps of the city.

The project consists of recovering the structures in a be-

tter state, rehabilitating their interior and incorporating
equipment for educational use, while the pieces in a wor-
se state are replaced by new structures that conceptually
evoke the figure of the previous ones.

The aim is to preserve the value that the coexistence of

these elements brings to the whole, incorporating new
pieces that respect the alignments and maintain the hid-
den character of the gardens.

These house the main programme and act as a filter for

indirect access to the whole. The programme is approa-
ched in a flexible way, the original buildings are adap-
ted to the new uses while the new structures allow the
centre to function as a school in the mornings and as
a space of opportunity for the city the rest of the time.

by means of “passageway” pieces; the use of modern ma-

Emergency settlement

Original town site

The following project is organised by the university of

Shiga Prefecture, under the research laboratory of the
professor Juan Ramón Jiménez. It aims to develop the
design and execution project of a small pavilion, destined
for a refugee community in the outskirts of the city of
Taclobán, one of the main cities in the eastern Bisayas
in Philippines, affected by the Haiyan typhoon in 2013.

The project is developed in three stages: administration

and fundraising, the design labors from the university of
Shiga Prefecture, and the execution of the pavilion in the
proposed place.

design and construction works for a community pavillion
[University of Shiga, Japan | Taclobán, Philipines |2015]

The project starts with a lack of resources. Thanks to

Japan government’s financial support for the university
investigation labors, it counts with a small budget, but
the unkowledge of the real situation added to the lack of
material resources for the execution works difficults the
design stage. The design declines for a modular strategy,
where a little functional module is defined by a series of
dimensionless coconut wood pieces,

In the execution stage the project affronts its third crisis.

The lack of manpower, the limit of time and the previous
problems make the project look irresolvable. Neverthe-
less, thanks to the help of the local people, it gets ahead.
The original use is redefined to adapt it to the real necessi-
ties of the community, and local constructive technics are
partially adopted, so the construction works speeds up
and the project recovers realism. The satisfactory result
is a playroom for the children of the community, that
settles as a first step of a future expansion.
