How to Change a Flat Tire

*Tools required to accomplish this are a tire iron and a jack*

Steps:
1. Locate the adjustable jack that is in the vehicle. The different types of cars
have various locations so find the owner’s manual if needed.

2. Take the jack and find the piece of hard metal under the car and near the flat
tire and place the jack under the piece of metal (not on aluminum or plastic).

3. Before jacking the car up, the lug nuts on the tire must be loosened. They
can be loosened with the tire iron that is located with the jack kit.
*Lug nuts are the 4-6 round objects that hold the tire on the car.
Picture shows what one looks like and where it is located.*

4. After the lug nuts have been loosened, proceed to jack the car up. The flat
tire should be off the ground about one to two inches.

5. When the car is jacked up enough, take the lug nuts off and take the tire off
and place it where the spare tire was located.

6. Take the spare tire and place it on the axel aligned with the bolts that stick
out on the axel and the holes in the rim of the tire.

7. When the new tire is on, the lug nuts need to be placed back on and
tightened up a little.
8. When the lug nuts are tightened a little, the jack can be lowered and placed
back in the jack location for the car.

9. To tighten the lug nuts in the correct order, tighten one and always tighten
the one across from the one previously one tightened. The order could be:
1,3,5,2,4

10. Once the lug nuts have been tightened, the rest of the equipment can be put
back with the jack and the car can now proceed with driving.
