Draw/Attach your Genetically Modified Product here! (35 points)

1. What is your GMO’s modified characteristic/s and Answer:

feature/s?
(5 points) We choose Mangosteen and
Orange as our product because
both of them are rich in vitamins
and they help us to boost our
immune system. As you can see,
the orange is in the inner part
which is it's similar to the
mangosteen inner part and we
made the mangosteen skin the
outer part, we think that
combining these two will be a
great anti oxidant for our health.
By the combination itself, we
called it "Orangosteen".

2. What is your proposed GMO’s impact to society. Answer:

Our product named "Orangosteen"

is a combination of orange and
mangosteen fruit. In botanical
sense, orange contains vitamin C
and folate, oranges provide
smaller amounts of other
nutrients, including calcium,
potassium, and thiamine (vitamin
B1). Oranges are also good source
of fiber and a rich source of
vitamin C and folate, among many
other beneficial nutrients.On the
other hand,mangosteen contains
several nutrients with antioxidant
capacity, such as vitamin C and
folate plus, it provides xanthones a
unique type of plant compound
known to have strong antioxidant
properties. This orangosteen has
an impact to our society in regards
to health benefits. It may help or
cure people who has lack of
nutrients.

3. What issues and concerns may arise as a result of Answer:

your proposed GMO?
(5 points) As a result of our proposed GMO
called “Orangosteen” the issues
and concerns we might encounter
is the production of the GMO. It
could be slower due to the climate
and weather we have. Our concern
would be waste of mangosteen’s
thick, hard, deep red rind. As
much as possible, we want to
modify its outer part to be edible
so that the nutrients from it could
add more to the nutrients of the
orange. “Orangosteen” is possibly
safe when taken for up to 12
weeks but It might cause
constipation, bloating, nausea,
vomiting, and tiredness if you
taken it for long. “Orangosteen”
might slow blood clotting but also
taking mangosteen might increase
