The Effect of Fast Walking on Sugar Levels in Patients with Type II Diabetes
Mellitus

Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas cannot produce
enough insulin or when the body cannot efficiently use the insulin it produces.
Therefore, it takes a good way for sufferers to go through the entire process of
diabetes treatment and care. There are several simple lifestyle steps that have been
shown to lower blood sugar levels one of which is to be active in physical activity
doing at least 30 minutes of regular, moderate-intensity activity almost every day.
Physical activity such as brisk walking has shown beneficial effects in those with
diabetes and prediabetes it has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity and
reduce belly fat. This research is a research with a literature study approach. The
purpose of this literature review is to analyze the application of fast walking to
blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus over the last five years. The
design of this research is a literature review. The method used to analyze articles
related to fast walking in lowering blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients
through data obtained from Google Scholar, EBSCO and PubMed empirically
study in the last five years as many as 8 journals that match the inclusion criteria
set by the authors. The results of the analysis show that brisk walking can reduce
blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus. Suggestion It is hoped that
fast walking can be applied to patients with type II diabetes mellitus and nurses
can apply nursing care in lowering blood sugar levels.
