To our distinguished instructor, Dr. Jennifer M. Medrano, for giving us this

kind of task, which really helps us to manifest and gain some knowledge regarding
the teaching profession.

To our truly worthy teachers, family, and friends who stood by us through thick
and thin, financially, morally, and physically, without whom our teaching internship
would not have been possible.

Finally, I want to thank all of the faculty and staff at Tandag Central
Elementary School, where I interned. I've lit a perpetual flame of gratitude and a
deep sense of obligation to my honorable teachers for their invaluable guidance,
constructive criticism, and inspiring attitude throughout my studies. I appreciate and

NARRATIVE REPORT

Weekly Accomplishment Report

Student Intern: Marjory J. Loayon

Cooperating School: Tandag Central Elementary School

Week 2: March 28 – April 1, 2022

This week of the internship, we were busy preparing the school because
Tandag Central Elementary School was scheduled for School Readiness
Assessment, which was introduced by the DepEd, the DOH, and the local
government. We ensured that the school utilized the Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat,
and Reintegrate framework, emphasizing the importance of water, sanitation, and
hygiene facilities, proper ventilation in the classrooms, and ensuring that the
classroom layout is easily understood by students, parents, or guardians as they
enter the school. We assisted our cooperating teachers in gathering and organizing
additional requirements. The DepEd requires the parents' consent and waiver form
for the implementation of face-to-face classes. These are used to obtain
parental/guardian permission to allow their child to participate in certain activities.
Because my cooperating teacher was in the computer room preparing for other
requirements, she delegated to me the task of collecting the parents' consent and
waiver forms. In these matters, I have already placed myself on high alert and am
always mindful. I made every effort not to make such errors during my first week of
internship.

Since my cooperating teacher, Joy Beryl J. Correos was newly assigned to

the classroom, the classroom was still empty (no bulletins, charts, and other
educational hangs). I helped her in designing the classroom into a cozier one. We
put and hung some educational texts on the walls and some charts regarding the
rules of following the proper health protocols. We sanitized and clean the classroom.
It takes 3 days for us to design the classroom. After designing the classroom, my
cooperating teacher assigned me to check the pupils’ output during modular

learning. That was when I was able to know the names of my cooperating teacher’s
pupils. I borrowed and copied a list of pupils' names from my cooperating teacher so
that I could become acquainted with them. My cooperating teacher told me about her
life stories while we were printing some documents. She was young, and our life
stories are nearly identical. I can identify with her story. I like her because she is
friendly and trustworthy. As I was working with her for days, I felt comfortabl e and
didn’t get shame about asking her and sharing my ideas with her.

We finished the week with a hectic schedule again. Even though it was a long
week, I was relieved because I learned what to do if something similar happened
again. The experience was fantastic.

Week 1: March 23 - 25, 2022

On the first week of our internship, we brought the deployment letter given to
us by our practicum coordinator, Dr. Jennifer Montero, and went to the Tandag
Central Principal’s office. We were so excited as we entered the office and greeted.
The principal, Mrs. Rjan D. Sabarez greeted and welcomed us with a big smile on
her face. I saw in herself already that she’s a friendly and reliable school head. We
then introduced ourselves and the principal and the cooperating teachers also
introduced their selves to us. After the cooperating teachers introduced their selves
to us, they immediately went to their classrooms to fulfill their requirements for face-
to-face readiness assessment evaluation by the DepEd and DOH. The principal
introduced to us the vision, mission, goals, and core values of Tandag Central
Elementary School. She then oriented us about the rules and policies of the school. I
took notes of the rules that she has said. After the orientation, she said that she will
not able to tour us on the entire campus because there was an urgent virtual meeting
that she will be attending, she then assisted us in going to our designated
cooperating teacher’s classroom.

My cooperating teacher is Ms, Joy Beryl J. Correos, a Grade 3 adviser of

section Manggustin. I felt happy entering the room then suddenly I felt nervous
because my cooperating teacher, Ms. Joy Beryl J. Correos was pouting her face.
She hasn’t noticed me going inside the classroom, she looked strict but I still
approached her gently. When she saw me, she smiled. That’s when I realized that
she was pouting her face because of the piled requirements that she will be doing. I
then asked her if there was anything I can help her. She asked me to print out the
health signage and cut it out. I pasted the exit and entrance arrow signage on the
floor to maintain the social distancing for the coming face-to-face classes. She
explained to me some changes that will happen in the face-to-face classes. The
pupils will be assigned whether set A or set B. I helped her in arranging the chair and
put the name tags of pupils on every chair. I help her hang the proper health
signages on top of the door (entrance and exit). We also arranged the pupils’

personal health kits that have soap, reserved facemasks, alcohol, toothbrush,
toothpaste, soap, and towel inside. We then put them on their designated desk. I
help her remove the curtains because the room should be open air. We pasted and
label every trash bin; one for “malata”, one for “dili-mata” and one for “delikado.” I cut
out the excess plants in the front of the classroom in order for the light pass through
inside the classroom.

We ended our first week with a busy schedule. It was an exhausting week for
us but then I learned a lot of things about how dedicated and strong a teacher is. I’m
now physically and mentally prepared to adjust to such a huge change, while still
continuing to perform well as a learner. I’m hopeful that the school will be more
prepared to accommodate all of our needs so that everyone can have the best
possible experience.

Week 3: April 4 - 7, 2022

We were expecting that this week will be the schedule of the evaluation of the
DepEd and DOH for School Readiness Assessment, but then the schedule was
moved to April 14, 2022. After hearing the news, we came back to our usual
routines. We maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the classroom. I helped the
cooperating teachers from different sections in making improvised module
containers. I was assigned to the supply office to get the cartolinas, tapes, and other
materials for the improvised module containers. My teacher also assigned me to
check every box that the parents have given. The boxes are used for the improvised
module containers. I designed the boxes with cute pictures. It was a tiring day for
me, because I managed to make 90 improvised module containers for two days with
the help of Ms. Correos. After finishing making the improvised module containers, I
checked the modular outputs of the pupils. I kind of like their outputs. Their drawings
were pretty amazing; they are artistic. I felt happy knowing that their creativeness
was not hindered by the Covid-19 pandemic. Ms. Correos told me that they were
practicing drawing during their vacant time because she asked them to. I was
shocked to hear it. She intentionally let them practice drawing for her to let them
develop their drawing skills. She made sure that the students will avoid using
gadgets for a long time. Upon checking their assessments, I can say that majority of
them are fast learners. Most of them got perfect scores in every subject. Though
there are some misspelled words, I always corrected them and write the correct
spelling of the words indicated in their answers.

In the next few days, my cooperating teacher assigned me to print out more
reading materials for the pupils. I made some paper tarps and covered them with
scotch tape for it to avoid getting torn. I also printed out some worksheets that will
serve as their formative assessments.

learners as a result of teamwork. Helping one another fosters a cooperative

Week 2: April 13 – April 14, 2022

In this final week, we finally started the face-to-face class. Early in the
morning, we made sure the classroom is clean and in order. We managed to clean it,
arrange other stuff, and prepared ourselves for the coming of the Set A pupils. My
cooperating teacher was at the entrance gate to assist every pupil in going to the
classroom. I was beside the classroom door entrance to check their body
temperatures and sanitize their hands. I always reminded them to observe social
distancing and avoid removing their mask as they enter the classroom. When they
finally, entered the classroom Ms. Correos introduced herself to the pupils. I also
introduced myself to the learners and began to orient them regarding the proper
health protocols, the rules, and school policies. I was kind of overwhelmed because
they really did listen to what I’m saying. They are well-behaved and disciplined. The
DepEd School Division personnel began observing Ms. Correos while having her
lessons with the pupils. The superintendent requested me to take pictures while they
were observing. I observed my cooperating teacher handling and teaching the
pupils. I took notes of the learning styles and techniques that she did during the
lesson. I assisted also my teacher in reading time. I evaluated and listed the pupils
who were advanced readers, good readers, and those who were struggling. But so
far, only one pupil is struggling with it. I made some eyes breaker (chants) for them.
We had fun and they learn a lot during the whole morning period. We assisted them
as they go out and never let them go home without their parents or guardian. We
called most of the parents and guardians at the end of the class to meet up with their
children at the gate.

After assisting the pupils at the gate to go home with their parents/guardians.
We immediately went back immediately in the classroom to clean and sanitize it. We
arranged everything inside for the preparation of the coming of the Set B pupils. We
did the same routine in the afternoon as what we did in the morning. The Set B
pupils were also well behaved and disciplined. They really did listen to what we said.
I made some eye breaker chants for them. We performed it together and we had fun.

They learned a lot during the whole afternoon period. We assisted them as they go
out of the classroom and reminded them to maintain social distancing. They went
home with their parents/guardians with a smile on their faces. I was also happy
because I was able to know them.

I learned that passion is indeed the driving force behind teaching. Having a
passion for teaching is a strong motivational factor, adds to your career longevity
prospects, contributes to your influence on students, and helps you relate to other
professionals in your field.
