3. Explain header and footer in word processing


Header is a text that appears on top of every
page in that document.
Footer is a text that appears on bottom of every
page in the document.
4. Explain Find and Replace in Word processor.
Find (Ctrl + F): searchs a specified text
in the documents many number of times
exists on requirement.
Replace: It allows the user to find the text and
replace it with another text.

5. Discuss copy-paste and cut-paste options in word


processing.
Copy ( Ctrl + C): copy the selection into
the clipboard for use later. When you
copy it remains on the page.
Paste (Ctrl + V): It places whatever is in
the clipboard where ever the cursor is.
Note that when you paste, the selection
is not removed from the clipboard. You
can paste same item multiple times
6. Write the difference between save as and save?
 The save option allows us to save a new file or
to save a file under the same name.
 The save as option allows us to save the
existing file under a different name.
7. Give any two advantages of word processor?
a) You can create documents fast, using built-in
and custom templates.
b) You can easily manage large documents using
various features like the ability to create a
table of contents, index, and cross-
references.
c) You can work on multiple documents
simultaneously.
8. Explain any two options of the formatting
toolbar in detail.
Formatting means changing the style and design
of text and objects in the document in a proper
way and this can be achieved using the
formatting toolbar.
 Font Face
1. Select the relevant text.
2. Select Font on the font group.
3. Click the Drop-Down on the Font Face.
4. Select the required Font face name.
 Font Size:
1. Select the relevant text.
2. Select Font Size on the Font clipboard.
3. Click the Drop-Down on the Font Size.
4. On the list, select Font Size and click it.

9. Give the commands for copy and paste?


Copy: Ctrl + C, Paste: Ctrl+V
10. Explain the steps for spell check.
1. Select the Review tab.
2. Select Spelling & Grammar.
3. Choose the appropriate option for
each spelling and grammar error detected.
11. Briefly explain spell-check in word processing.
To check the spelling we have to follow the
following steps
1 .Select Tools->spelling and grammar from the
menu bar.
2. If the word is spelled correctly click the
ignore button or click the ignore all button.
3. If the word is spelled in correctly then choose
one of the suggested spelling from the
suggestions box and click on change button or
change all button.
4. To correct all occurrence of the word in the
document. If the correct spelling is not
suggested. Enter the correct spelling in Not In
dictionary box and click the change button.
If the word is spelled correctly and will
appear in many documents you type. Click Add
button to add the word to the dictionary .so it
will no longer appear as a misspelled word.

A cell is an intersection of row and column in
the spreadsheet.
2. What is spread sheet?
A spreadsheet is a software tool for entering,
manipulating and analyzing sets of number.
3. What is Workbook?
A workbook is a multipage Excel document.
4. What is cell address?
Every cell is identified by unique address
called cell address, which includes the column
alphabet followed by the row number.
5. Why is the cell pointer used?
A rectangular box which is used to identify the
active cell is called cell pointer.
6. What is the extension with which a workbook is
saved?
A workbook is saved under the extension .xls or
.xlsx.
7. How many rows and columns are there in the
worksheet?
65,536 (10, 48,576) rows and 256 (16,384) columns
are there in the worksheet.
8. What is Macro?
Macro is a small program that carries out pre-
defined and pre-recorded series of steps by
giving a few keyboard shortcuts or by running
the macro name.
9. Explain the steps for creating the macro.
Select TOOLS->MACRO-> RECORD NEW MACRO
10. How do you delete a Macro?
 Select TOOLS->MACRO->MACROS, select the macro
name.
 Click on Delete.

2. E- mail: E-mail stands for electronic
mail. It is the most popular, cheap, easy
and fastest mailing service.
We can send and receive messages on
internet with- in seconds or minutes.
3. Email discussion group: These are used to
discuss different topics with other people
by email.
4. News groups: Newsgroups are discussion
groups on internet. They are used for free
exchange of information. A user sends a
message to the news group site. Other users
