1. Why might the study of philosophy be particularly important to educators?

A teacher plays a significant role in instilling independent thinking in students and

students always look up to their teachers. Therefore, a teacher must have his thoughts
or philosophy to inspire them. By considering their philosophy, it makes the teachers
understand their job and improve and develop their competencies.

2. Which branch or branches of philosophy (particularly those that are central to

teaching) would you want to emphasize in your classroom? Why?

As an educator, I would focus on axiology. Axiology is the philosophical study of

goodness or the worth of something. This particular approach is often guided by the
question, "if I were a good person, what would I do in this situation." The main idea of
this orientation is the identification of ethical values. Using the axiological approach
would make it easier to carry out various educational activities which would be aimed
towards developing students' qualities and personalities. Some examples of these
qualities are the following: the desire to know people of other cultures and to establish
productive relationships with them; willingness to learn from others and a sense of
community with others, along with one’s own self-determination in a multicultural
environment.

3. Do you learn better deductively or inductively? Why do you think?

I believe that I learn more using the inductive method. This method is a method of
self-discovery, it gives new knowledge, trains the mind, gives self-confidence and
initiative to learn, and is also full of activities. This method is an upward process of
thought and leads to principles. This method enables me to discover various strategies
that I may use in teaching new concepts to my students.
