George Stark High School: Form Three 2022 Continuous Assessment Learning Area 1 Background
BACKGROUND
Zimbabwe, like any other nation, is moving with time as she has adapted to the world of technology.
Learners are now living in the jet world. Most of them are computer literate. In other words, they can
use a computer without much difficulty. Some of these learners have personal computers in their
homes. However, there is ongoing abuse and misuse of this working and thinking tool of the 21 st
Century and the computer age seems to be causing more harm than good to the school going
generation. Learners need to research into the problems or harm computers have brought and to
suggest ways of mitigating such.
THE CALA
It has three separate parts, A, B and C. You need to respond to all the parts.
Part A has10 marks. The research and write up itself has 20 marks. Part C has 10 marks.
Part A
Carry out research on the uses of computers, abuses, effects of abuses and ways of dealing with such.

Part C
Topic: Computers have brought more harm than good to Form Three learners.
1. From your research findings, write a report to the teacher outlining the dangers of abusing
computers and ways of dealing with such effects in your school.
2. Make use of the notes from your research, considering the main points, facts and opinions
