Instructions: Create your own model analogy of the cell and its organelles.

For example, you can compare a cell to a city and its parts and members. The city mayor can be
compared to the nucleus of the cell and explain why you chose it as an analogy.

Example:

Cell City Explanation

Nucleus City Mayor The nucleus controls all the activities of
the cell and contains the genetic material
which is most important in cell replication.
In the same manner, the city mayor is the
one who is in charge of the entire city and
has the power to make decisions for the
betterment of the city.

Cells Laptop Explanation

Nucleus CPU Nucleus controls all the
activities of the cell and
contains the genetic material
which is most important in
cell replication. In the same
manner, the CPU is the brain
of the laptop.
Cytoplasm Motherboard Cytoplasm houses the
organelles. In the same
manner, the motherboard of
the laptop contains the
important parts.
Cell membrane USB port Cell membrane regulates
what comes in and out of the
cell. In the same manner, the
USB port controls what goes
in and out of the laptop.
Mitochondria Battery Mitochondria, as what we all
know, is the powerhouse of
the cell. In the same manner,
the battery provides the
power and energy for the
laptop and releasing it for the
laptop to use.
Golgi apparatus RAM The Golgi apparatus
transports vesicles, or
packages of diverse cell
products, to various parts of
the cell. In the same manner.
The RAM stores and run
processes, to be received and
read almost instantaneously.
Ribosomes Pixels Ribosomes bind amino acids
together to form proteins. In
the same manner, the pixels
of the laptop binds together to
create a picture.
Endoplasmic reticulum Wires The endoplasmic reticulum is
a cell structure made up of a
maze of passages that
carry proteins and other
materials from one part of the
cell to another. In the same
manner, the wires or the
circuits in the motherboard
transport energy from one
part to another part of the
laptop.
Lysosomes Recycle bin Lysosomes get rid of wastes.
In the same manner, the
recycle bin holds files that
you don’t need anymore or
potentially dangerous then
you can get rid of them here.
Cell wall Case Cell wall is a thin membrane
around the cytoplasm of a
cell. It provides both
structural and protection, and
acts as a filtering mechanism.
The case of the laptop
provides structure and
support.
Vacuole Storage devices Vacuole generally acts as a
storage unit of a cell. In the
same manner, the storage
devices is used to remember
or store data in a laptop.
