NSCP Slopes (Chapter 3 – Excavation and Fills)

The slope of cut surfaces shall be no steeper than is safe for intended use
and shall be no steeper than 1 unit vertical in 2 units horizontal or 50%
unless geotechnical engineering report, stating that the site has been
investigated.

Fill slopes shall not be constructed on natural slopes steeper than 1 unit
vertical in 2 units horizontal or 50%

Drainage facilities and terracing shall conform to the provisions of this
section for cut and fill slopes steeper than 1 unit vertical in 3 units horizontal
or 33.3%

Foundations for all buildings where the surface of the ground slopes more
than 1 unit vertical in 10 units horizontal or 10% shall be level or shall be
stepped so that both top and bottom of such foundations are level.
Foundation may support a roof in addition to the stipulated number of
floors. Foundations supporting roofs only shall be a required for supporting
one floor.
