V. Order of Business

1. Child Protection Policy

The adviser reminded all the parents on the DepEd Order No. 40 s.
2012 or the Child Protection Policy that represents an obligation to
ensure that children are free from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and
grow up safe and protected within families. The policy provides
special protection to children who are forced to work instead of
answering their modules or Learning Activity Sheets.

One of the parents suggested that parents should only let their
children do their house chores after answering their modules. They
should not also force their children to look for jobs because it would
affect their behavior and performance and even be the reason for them
not to continue their studies. The motion was duly seconded.

2. Distribution and Retrieval of Modules or Learning Activity

Sheets (LAS)

The adviser informed the body that the distribution and retrieval of
modules or learning activity sheets will be every Friday each week. It
was scheduled Friday because Monday to Thursday is the schedule of
the students to answer their modules or learning activity sheets, both
printed and online.

The motion was seconded without any objection.

3. Computation of Attendance

The adviser explained that in a week, the students attendance is

equivalent to six days. 3 days is for distribution and 3 days for
retrieval. If the student only submitted 5 answer sheets it would be
divided to 8 modules in a week times 6 which is the complete
attendance in a week. That is equivalent to 3.8 which will be rounded
and it will result to a 4 days being present in a week.
One of the parents suggested that if a student gets sick and was
not able to answer the modules, the parent should contact the adviser
and explain what happened. The motion was duly seconded.
4. E-book Orientation

The adviser informed the body that the use of E-book, starting this
year, is already implemented. She explained that students are able to
learn offline instead of printed modules. She added that it is a great
help for the school because it minimizes the use of ink and bond
papers in reproduction. Students may use laptops or cellphones with
the application, Kotobee Reader, to open the modules or Learning
Activity Sheets. She also explained that it is not compulsory to use E-
book. If a student doesn’t have any gadget, then he/she may continue
using printed modules. The motion was seconded without any
objection.

5. Recipients of Flash drives

Regarding the prior discussion, the adviser explained that those

students who have laptops will be provided a free flash drive to be
used in E-book learning. She added that the schedule for copying the
topics each subject is every Friday of the week, similar to the schedule
of retrieval and distribution of modules.

One of the parents suggested that if possible, a set of modules

good for one month be compiled in a folder to be copied by the student
using the flash drive to refrain from going to school every week. The
motion was duly seconded.
