Lesson idea implementation: To start the lesson we will discuss the seven continents.

Lesson Idea

We will discuss how to know which continent is which based on location and by some
of their landmarks. I will then show them the e-book I created. After, I show my e-
book I will put students in seven groups and let each group pick a continent. Students
will then work with their group to create an e-book about their continent.

Managing engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that gets students
actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? To manage engagement, I will have
students write out what them plan to put on each slide by using a storyboard. I will also give
the groups about 15-20 minutes to come up with their storyboard. After they create a
storyboard they will use that information to make their e-book on Microsoft PowerPoint.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

 To make sure all learners are engaged we will discuss some things about each
continent. I will create a list on the board as the students give information about a
continent.
 This lesson includes engagement because it is hands on and creating something of
their own. They can express themselves personal by picking their own continent as
well as the pictures they will insert. The book example is presented in two ways. The
book will be shown on screen and recording will be playing, I will also print book out
and leave out for an example.

Reflecting on enhanced learning:

I feel this activity will impact student learning by allowing students to work in groups and to
be creativity when making their own e-book on one of the seven continents. I look forward to
implementing showing the students how to create and e-book using PowerPoint. I look
forward to this because I think it’s amazing how you can use PowerPoint for so many things
to help students learn.
