As the whole nation is battling a pandemic brought by the corona virus disease insuring food availability
for every family and there is a need for us to have a strong body and immunity. Gulayan sa Paaralan is
one of the programs that aims mitigate hunger and improve learners health condition. It also aims to
boost the awareness of the students on the significance of growing vegetables.
Despite of the hard situation we are facing Mandong Integrated School Gulayan sa Paaralan manage to
attain its objectives through the leadership of Elmer N. Dalida-ESHT III, School EPP/Gulayan sa Paaralan
Coordinator, with the support of the parents/guardians, teachers, Barangay Council of Mandong and
other stakeholders in repairing the GPP facility and maintaining the school garden. By our helping hands,
the said program was implemented successfully. To help in minimizing wasted recyclable materials, we
developed vegetable garden using containers like sack, mineral bottles, and others. We observed the
healthy growth of the vegetable plants using organic fertilizer, water management, weeding
management. Teachers, learners and parents were encouraged to do their backyard garden in at home
and apply the good practices of gardening learned in school.
II. OBJECTIVES
1. Awaken the interest of learners for the realization and importance of vegetable gardening,good
health and malnutrition, love of and caring for others.

3. Actively engage and shared responsibility to stakeholders in the construction and management of
Gulayan sa Paaralan Program.
1. Land preparation EPP/T.L.E. teachers parents and Barangay Council initiate cleaning of the garden
area and cultivation of the soil.
2. Select the area or space for planting.
4. Identify different variety of vegetables, fruit bearing tress and medicinal plants based on considerable
and available factors like the soil, weather condition, and area.
5. Encourages all teachers to participate in planting and maintaining their designated garden plots.
6. Collect animal manure and rice hay (dayami) as source of organic fertilizer.
B. DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE
2. Cultivate garden plots design with the help of all Teachers and parents.
4. Created compost pit and dump bio-gradable waste, animal manure, and rice hay (dayami) in order to
have natural fertilizer.
C. POST-DEVELOPMENTAL PHASE
1. Requested the General PTA officers to help cleaning and maintaining the garden.
2. To sustain the project, teachers were group and assigned to managed the garden.
