Onboard Traininq as an ODA Project

To my dear colleagues in Indonesia,

The Republic of Korea is pleased to invite Indonesia to join the onboard training as a 2022
Official Development Assistance (ODA) project.

Based on the successful completion of the training last year, utilizing training ship of Korea
Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT), we are willing to provide an
opportunity for the onboard training this year as well.

In this context, we would like to invite Indonesian cadets with full potential of becoming
competent seafarers.

As you might be aware, the onboard training program consists of the Basic Safety Training
required by the STCW Convention as well as an actual onboard training at sea.

The onboard training program will be conducted in strict compliance with COVID-19
quarantine guidelines. Prior to the actual onboard training program, the trainees will go
through a PCR test immediately after entering and before leaving Korea.

The deliberations of the onboard training will be structured as follows;

Date & Duration: Tuesday September 20m- Saturday December 17th2022 (13 weeks)

- Entry into the Republic of Korea (KIMFT): September 20th (1 day)

- Orientation, Maritime English, Technical Tour and etc.: September 21" - 30th (10 days)
- Basic Safety Training: October 3fd- 7th (5 days)

- Simulation Training: October loth- 14th(5 days)

- Onboard Training: October 17Ih- December 16th(9 weeks)

- Departure: December 17th (1 day)


Participants: 30 cadets (No less than 7-8 female cadets)

- Third-year or senior students in maritime college

- From Indonesia, Vietnam and the Republic of Philippines


(Around 9-10 cadets* from each country)
* The exact number will be decided latel:

- Based on the Republic of Korea's "Arrival and quarantine guidelines" as of May 4th2022, the
nominated cadets are required to have received the second vaccination* in their own country
as of the date of entrance or have received the third (booster) vaccination following the
second vaccination so that they can be exempted from quarantine.
* 14 to 780 days following the second dosage of a vaccine (1st dose for Ianssen) that has
been approved by WHO

We would be delighted to have your cadets at this onboard training and hope that you
will accept this invitation t o join the program.

An official invitation letter will be sent out soon, and your response must be received by
June 8* 2022 in consideration of the time required for visa issuance. Thus, kindly be
prepared in advance for your cadet selection so that we can stay on track.
