IMPORTANCE
1. To let others know how badly covid-19 had affect

the hotel industry.
2. To make everyone aware that to get raw
materials from the suppliers is getting difficult for
hotel owners because of the lockdown.
3. To aware others that Because of covid many
workers and employees are lay off by the hotel
management.
4. To make everyone aware that It is very
important to study this project as it will help us to
predict the future of hotel industry.
5. To alert everyone Because according to survey
it is very much clear that customers are not ready
to dine in at the restaurant.
6. To let others know that collaborating
with zomato hotel industry is getting profit
again.
7. And as we all know that hotel industry is one
of the leading industries, so it is very important
to study the today's scenario of this industry.
8. To make everyone aware that stedy but slowly
hotel industry is growing once again.

DATA INTERPRETATION AND ANALYSIS
1. what sort of facilities you have in your hotel ?

Interpretation :
Out of 100% The above graph shows that

maximum 70% of respondents have selected
restaurant Facility. Whereas 15% of respondents
having Café.
5% of respondents having bar as their facility and
adding o 10% of respondents having lodge facility.

2. No. of people working in your hotel ?
Interpretation :
According to graph there are 25% of respondents

having less than five workers and the same percent
belongs to more than 15 workers.
Where as maximum 45% of respondents having 10
to 15 employees in their hotel. According to survey
only 5% of respondents having workers belong to
5
- 10 category.

3.What problems did you faced during Lockdown ?
Interpretation :
From above chart the opinion of the respondents

towards financial loss are maximum by 56.67% , where
as 30% of respondents have faced wastage of food. 10%
of respondents have not faced any problem yet and just
3.33% of respondents have faced other problem
comparatively to financial loss and wastage of food. So
we can conclude that major problem faced by Hotel
owners is financial loss 56.67% and wastage of food by
30% .

4. Has Your Hotel Deployed New Business Model to

bring in Revenue ?
Interpretation :
Through the survey the above graph represents equal

percentage of weightage on both the side. From above
pie diagram 50% of respondents have implemented new
business model where as other 50% have failed to
deployed new business model to bring in revenue.

5. Did Your Hotel received any Government

Assistance ? If Yes Then What ?
Interpretation :
These survey question consist of yes-no type in

these survey we asked respondents for the
government support for their hotel survival and in
that after the reference of above bar graph, the
picture is clear. we can see 90% of respondents
didn't received any government assistance where as
10% of respondents have only received government
support.

6. On average What is Your Daily Income or Profit ?
Interpretation :
From the above pie chart, Before pandemic the

average income of hotel owners in daily basis are as
follows -
Maximum 50% of respondents having an income
between 1000-3000. The other 30% having an
income of above 3000 which is comparatively better
in percentage. As per survey, we have received
equal percentage of 10% for daily income between
500- 1000 and below 500

7. what was the condition of salaries paid to the

workers ?
Interpretation :
In survey, we found that in overall 100% only 15%

respondents have given full salary to workers .
where as maximum respondents of 40% have paid
25-50% salary only. other 25% respondents have
paid 75% of salary and 20% of respondents was not
able to pay salary due to lockdown.

8. Have You Implemented any Technological

Innovations in your Hotel ? If YES Then what ?
Interpretation :
These question plays a major role for our survey. as

technology upgradation is must for survival of business
but after survey maximum respondents by 75% have not
implemented any technological innovations where as
only 10% of respondents implemented the same for
hotel development and other 15% have implemented-
digital menu card, smartphone boarding passes and
sanitization and automatic sanitization machine.

9. Is there any problem for getting raw material

due to the restrictions of covid-19 ?
Interpretation :
In survey, we have collected response of respondents

who have faced problem for getting raw material due to
covid- 19 restrictions. From overall respondents only 30%
hotel owners have faced problem of supply of raw
material and other 70% even they have faced problem of
getting raw material but sometimes.
In these bar graph we can figure out every respondents
have faced some or other issue for getting raw material
due to covid-19 restrictions.

10. Haveyou collaborate Your Business with

Zomato or Swiggy, if yes is it profitable to you or
not ?
Interpretation :
In today's world it is necessary to adapt online

business to attract more customers and we have
asked same question to our respondents. in which
60% of hotel owners have collaborated their
business with swiggy and zomato while 35% of
hotel owners didn't collaborated their business
online and other 5% have mention that this online
business is less profitable but attract more
customers .

11. The customers in your hotel feels safe ?
Interpretation :
The above bar graph shows that 65% respondents

are strongly agree and they think that customers in
their hotel feels safe. where as 15% of respondents
are just agree for the safety of customer in their
hotel and 20% of respondents are not sure and
made their decision to neutral.

12. With the new hopes, Are you are going to

implement any Strategies to boost your hotel
business ?
Interpretation :
Through the bar chart we understand that 55% of

respondents are ready to implement strategies to boost
their hotel business in which 5% respondents are
disagree for implementing new strategies and other 40%
are still confused and they have not decided yet for
implementing strategies.
So we can conclude that The graph shows the maximum
numbers of respondents are ready to implement
innovative ideas to develop their business.

OBSERVATION
From Overall Observation , the results suggest

that the lockdown days at the peak of the coronavirus
crisis with the increasing number of monetary policy
decisions and other restrictions have led to the
epidemic effect of COVID-19 on the level of general
economic activity and the budget of the hotel sector
Due to this Pandemic of COVID-19 has a negative impact
on the hotel sector in Sangli City whereas the confirmed
cases have a profound effect of COVID-19 on the hotel
sector related to Financial Loss . The COVID-19 appears
to be more effective in reducing the effects of
economic stability in the hotel sector has deteriorated
significantly over a short period of time.
Operating sufficient minimum for quick recommendation
when the opportunity arrives. Implement a
micro-digital and social media marketing strategy to
maintain the customers' mindset. Engage with suppliers
to calculate there ability to reconnect with the hotel to
Develop and maintain communication lines with key
customers and team members.

CONCLUSION
In this research, we have researched about the face

of the hotel industry in the face of covid-19 pandemic
in Sangli City. In Sangli City there are very less
Branding Hotel Chains. As Covid-19 Pandemic
affected every sector, Hotel industry is also affected
by this.
We have done this research by survey method.
Survey was held online through Google forms. We have
send the questionnaire to 20 different Hotel owners and
on the basis of that we have done this research
In this Pandemic, a lot of employees who works at
Hotels, lost their employment. There was problem for
several times for getting Raw Materials for Hotel. Also
the Hotels which are located on rented spaces have
been facing problem regarding rents.
Also financial problems also occurred due to
Pandemic. But at the same point a lot of Hotel owners tie
up with online delivery services like Swiggy, Zomato etc.
And this Delivery Services are booming their profit as
well as popularity. Also Hotel owners are willingly ready
for adapting new technology, contactless delivery and
much more.
To Conclude, In this Covid-19 Pandemic, Hotel
industry is Covering up their loss and trying to adapt new
Technology and trying to survive in long run period.

project on the face of hotel industry in covid-19

hotel industry. In this pandemic a lot of sectors and
industries are facing a lot of problems while we got to
learn about those problems as well as the solutions
which were implemented to get out from this situation
of pandemic.
