GROUP ASSIGNMENT:

VIDEO ANALYSIS

15% (Knowledge 10% + Writing 5%)

This is a group assignment. Students will be assigned a video (link will be provided). You are required to
watch the video and critically analyze the content of the video. This assignment is designed to expose
students to the “real world of training”. It will provide them with first-hand information on the process and
practices related to Training & Development. Students will learn the practical aspects of training and
development.

Requirement:

You are expected to write an analysis that entails the followings:

i. Explain the training program as shown in the video.

ii. Identify the issue/gap that was meant to be addressed by the training program. You may also
include the discussion on the needs assessment and the level of assessment.

iii. Analyze the effectiveness of the training program. Discuss appropriateness of the training in
addressing the needs and how well the training was designed and implemented.

iv. Anticipate the potential problem/s that might arise from the training. Suggest how to overcome
the problem/s.

 This assignment carries 15% of your overall grade. Each group is expected to submit a write-up
about 5 pages emphasizing the subject matter.
 Please use font size 12 Times New Roman with 1.5 spacing.

SUBMISSION: WEEK 7

GROUP PROJECT:

ASSESS, DESIGN, DEVELOP, IMPLEMENT & EVALUATE A TRAINING PROGRAM (ADDIE)

(Writing 20% + Presentation 10% + Social 5%)

In this class, students will work in groups to develop and present a training module to a selected group of
trainees (your classmates)/community/organization). Students should assume that they are independent
training consultants and that they are required to conduct an assessment of training needs, to design and
provide the necessary training to the trainees.

Groups should address the following areas:

1. Training Needs Assessment


 Introduction – What is the analysis phase (TNA)? The levels? Process?
 Select a group to identify their training needs. How did you conduct the TNA?
o What kind of training needs are identified? Why is the training needed?
o Who needs the training?
 How did you prioritize the training to be conducted?
2. Program Design and Development
 Introduction – What is involved in the training design and development phases?
 Determine the training objectives
 Develop a comprehensive lesson plan
o Choose appropriate training methods & justification
o Identify training site, trainers, materials, etc.
o Develop & prepare materials, etc.
3. Program Implementation
 Introduction – What is involved in the training implementation phases?
 How did your group prepare for the implementation phase?
 How did the presentation go?
 What challenges did your group face during this phase? How did you handle the challenges?
4. Program Evaluation
 Introduction – What is involved in the training evaluation phases?
 Discuss various training evaluation models available

 Determine your training evaluation plan & develop the training evaluation form for your training
implementation.
 Conduct the evaluation. Provide the results and discuss the outcomes.

This assignment carries 35% of your overall grade. Each group is expected to submit a complete written
report about 10 pages emphasizing on the above-mentioned areas.

The font size should be 12 of Times New Roman with 1.5 spacing.

Remember, this is a group work, so all of you are expected to contribute equally to complete the work.
