Back
Cast on 95(101)107(113)119 sts and begin working half brioche st and the
cable pattern at both ends from row 1 of the chart: work 1 st from the right
edge of the chart, repeat section A 9(10)11(12)13 times [= 18(20)22(24)26
sts], work section B (= 15 sts), repeat section C 14(15)16(17)18 times
[= 28(30)32(34)36 sts], work section D (= 15 sts), and repeat section E
9(10)11(12)13 times [= 18(20)22(24)26 sts]. Work rows 2–6 of the chart and
then keep repeating rows 1–6.
Note: When you have worked rows 1–6 two times (12 rows in total), begin
the cable turns toward the sides (see pattern):
1st cable turn toward the sides: on a RS row, work 18(20)22(24)26 sts in half
brioche st, decrease 1 st by p2tog, work the 13 cable sts, increase 1 st (= knit
or purl the strand of yarn between sts through the back loop following the
half brioche). Work the middle 29(31)33(35)37 sts in half brioche, increase
1 st, work the 13 cable sts, decrease 1 st, work 18(20)22(24)26 sts in half
brioche. On both sides, 1 st decreased at the half brioche section next to
the cables and 1 st increased in the middle section next to the cables. The
number of sts remains unchanged. Work the WS row. Work the increased
sts in half brioche.
2nd cable turn toward the sides: on a RS row, work 17(19)21(23)25 sts in
half brioche st, decrease 1 st, work the 13 cable sts, increase 1 st. Work the
middle 31(33)35(37)39 sts in half brioche, increase 1 st, work the 13 cable
sts, decrease 1 st, work 17(19)21(23)25 sts in half brioche. On both sides, 1 st
decreased at the half brioche section next to the cables and 1 st increased
in the middle section next to the cables. Work the WS row. Work the inc-
reased sts in half brioche.
Repeat the cable turns in the same manner 5 more times (= 7 times in to-
tal), finishing on a RS row. There are now 12(14)16(18)20 sts of half brioche
and 14 st cables at both ends, with 43(45)47(49)51 sts of half brioche in
the middle section.
Work 7 rows without turning.
Begin the cable turns toward the centre (see pattern):
1st cable turn toward the centre: on a RS row, work 12(14)16(18)20 sts in
half brioche, increase 1 st (= knit or purl the strand of yarn between the sts
through the back loop following the half brioche), work the 13 cable sts, and
decrease 1 st by p2tog. Work the middle 41(43)45(47)49 sts in half brioche,
decrease 1 st, work the 13 cable sts, increase 1 st, work 12(14)16(184)20 sts
in half brioche. On both sides, 1 st increased at the half brioche section next
to the cables and 1 st decreased at the middle section next to the cables.
Work the WS row. Work the increased sts in half brioche.
2nd cable turn toward the centre: on a RS row, work 13(15)17(19)21 sts in
half brioche, increase 1 st, work the 13 cable sts, and decrease 1 st. Work the
middle 39(41)43(45)47 sts in half brioche, decrease 1 st, work the 13 cable
sts, increase 1 st, work 13(15)17(19)21 sts in half brioche. On both sides, 1 st
increased at the half brioche section next to the cables and 1 st decreased
at the middle section next to the cables. Work the WS row. Work the inc-
reased sts in half brioche.
Repeat the cable turns in the same manner 5 more times (= 7 times in to-
tal), finishing on a RS row. There are now 19(21)23(25)27 sts of half brioche
and 14 st cables at both ends, with 29(31)33(35)37 sts of half brioche in the
middle section.
Work 7 rows without turning.
Work the cable turns toward the sides, work 7 rows, work the cable turns
toward the centre, work 7 rows, work the turns toward the sides. Repeat
the turns toward the sides on every 2nd row until the 14 cable sts reach the
edge of the piece.
At both ends, bind off 1x6(6)7(7)9 sts, 1x4(4)5(5)5 sts, and 2(4)4(4)4x1
sts on every 2nd row for the armholes = 71(73)75(81)83 sts.
When the armhole measures 20(21)22(23)24 cm, bind off on every other
row 1x7(8)8(9)8 sts and 2x7(7)7(8)9 sts at both ends for the shoulders.
Securely bind off the remaining 29(29)31(31)31 sts.
Front
Work as you did the back until the armhole measures 14(15)16(17)18 cm.
Work the shoulder decreases as you did on the back piece. At the same
time as the 1st shoulder decrease, leave the middle 21(21)23(23)23 sts on
hold for the neckline. Work one side of the neckline at a time. Bind off on
every 2nd row 2x2 sts at the neckline edge. Knit the other side of the neck-
line to match.
Left sleeve
Cast on 39(41)43(43)45 sts and begin the half brioche from row 1 of the
chart: work 1 st from the right edge of the chart and repeat section A
19(20)21(21)22 times. Work rows 2–6 of the chart and then keep repea-
ting rows 1–6.
When the piece measures 7(5)11(10)8 cm, increase 1 st at both ends. Re-
peat the increases every 3(3)2,5(2,5)2,5 cm 13(14)15(16)17 more times =
67(71)75(77)81 sts. When the piece measures 49(50)51(52)53 cm, on eve-

Finishing
Pin the pieces to measurements and steam lightly. 21-22-23-24-25
Attach the sleeves following the markings on the pattern. Sew the shoul-

Neckline edge: Using the circular needle, pick up and knit the sts on hold 44- 51-
as well as additional sts for 80(80)82(82)84 sts in total. Work half brioche 45- 52-
in the round (make sure the knit sts continue from the front pieces and 46- 53
shoulders to the neckline): 47-
Round 1: slip the purl sts purlwise and yo, knit the knit sts. 48
Round 2: purl together the purl sts and yarn overs, slip the knit sts purl-
wise and yo.
Round 3: slip the purl sts purlwise and yo, knit together the knit sts and
yarn overs. Keep repeating rows 2–3.
When the neckband measures 5 cm, bind off (at the same time work the 26-28-30-32-34 12-12,5-13-
yarn overs together with the sts). 13-13,5
