than one area, you’re using additional modalities. Remember that there are no wrong answers
to this inventory.
Everyone is an individual and has her own style of learning.

My Learning Style
Choose for the suggestions listed above 4-5 techniques you will try this quarter as you
study for classes. List them here as an action plan detailing how you will incorporate multi-
sensory learning into your study time.

My highnest score of learning is on kinesthetic . Besides, im also good in learning style in visual
and auditory . then list action to be taken is iCreate mind maps, flow charts, and diagrams using
bright colors. Put them where I can view them frequently. Then Rewrite notes using different

colors. I also will Discuss the material that I have been learning with my friend or study group.
Then , Walk and talk the information. Lasty, I will Create my own auditory notes using a tape
recorder.
2.2 GOAL SETTING

Long-term goals are the objectives you set for yourself for the end of the year, for four or five years from
now, or even for a lifetime. Short-term goals, on the other hand, can be set for an hour from now, for the
end of the day, week, month, or term (or semester). Short-term goals include things like completing a
reading assignment, writing an essay, getting a B in a course, getting off probation, or making the Dean’s
List. Think of your short- term goals as steps toward achieving the long-term goals you have set for
yourself. By accomplishing daily, weekly, and semester (or term) goals, you move closer to your long-range
academic, career, and personal goals
ACTIVITY 2-3

2.9 Reading Text: The SQ3R strategy

This strategy includes the following five steps (Robinson, 1946 in Adolescence Literacy):

1. Survey: Students review the text to gain initial meaning from the title, subtitle, chapter introduction
or lead-in, boldfaced headings, graphs, charts, pictures, the final paragraph or summary and end-
ofchapter material (study / discussion questions, vocabulary list).
2. Question: Students try to form questions based on the preview (survey).
3. Read: As students read, they need to look for answers to the questions they formed during their
preview of the text. These questions, based on the structure of the text, help focus students' reading.
4. Recite: after each section, pause. Students will attempt to answer questions formed earlier. If
students could not answer, then look back and find the answer in the section. Students should recite
and rehearse the answers to their questions. Summarize the information. As students move through
the text they should recite or rehearse the answers to their questions and make notes about their
answer for later studying.
5. Review: After you have finished reading the whole reading assignment, refer back to each heading.
Recall your questions and try to answer the them. If you cannot recall, go back and find the answer. This
part is to test yourself.

SURVEY

REVIEW QUESTION

RECITE READ

Students read the text below (Figure 12.3: Van Blerkom, 2009,
pg. 309) and apply the SQ3R method.
2.10 TAKING LECTURE NOTES
Where Are You Now? YES NO

1 Do you edit your notes within twenty-four hours after each of your classes? YES

2 Do you try to write down exactly what your professor says in class? YES

3 Do you separate the main points from supporting information in your notes? YES

4 Are you able to read and understand your notes when you study for your YES
exam?
5 Do you sometimes find that your notes do not make sense when you review NO
them before an exam?

6 Do you tend to write down only key words when you take notes? YES

7 Do you review your notes by reciting them aloud? YES

8 Do you tend to miss a lot of information when you take notes? NO

9 Are you actively involved in the lecture? YES

1 Do you read your textbook assignment before you go to your lecture class? YES
0

TOTAL 10
Give yourself 1 point for each yes answer to questions 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, and 10, and 1 point
for each no answer to questions 2, 5, 6, and 8. Now total up your points.
A low score indicates that you need some help in note taking. A high score indicates
that you are already using many good note-taking strategies.
2.11 INDIVIDUAL PHOTO

Hye and Assalamualaikum! My name is Muhammad Ikram bin Nor Azman. 19 years old and I
from Terengganu. This picture was take during Hari Raya Aidilfitri and I was at my village at this
time.
2.12 ACADEMIC INTEGRITY & PERFORMANCE

CALCULATING GRADE POINT AVERAGE

The final examination results and assessments at the end of every semester are assigned a Grade
Point Average (GPA) and a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) which represent a student’s
academic achievement.

A Grade Point Average (GPA) refers to the calculated average of the letter grades a student earns
in each semester following a 0 to 4.0 scale.

Table 1: GPA Calculation

Letter Percent
Grade Grade 4.0 Scale

A+ 90-100 4.00

A 80-89 4.00

A- 75-79 3.67

B+ 70-74 3.33

B 65-69 3.00

B- 60-64 2.67

C+ 55-59 2.33

C 50-54 2.00

C- 47-49 1.67

D+ 44-46 1.33
D 40-43 1.00

E 30-39 0.67

F 0-29 0.00
Every semester, students receive a GPA based on the grades they earned in all their courses during
that semester. The formula used for the calculations of the Grade Point Average (GPA) is as
follows:

GPA = The total credit values registered and attempted in the assessment of a semester
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------

The total credit units acquired in the same semester To

find GPA weighted by credit hours, follow these steps:

1. Multiply each numeric grade value by the number of credits the course was worth.

2. Add these numbers together.

3. Divide by the total number of credits you took. = (3.67 x 3) + (3.33 x 2)

------------ 3 + 2

= (11.01 + 6.66) / 5

4. = 3.5
Your GPA = 3.53.

CGPA = The total credit values registered and attempted in the assessment of all semesters

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------

The total credit units acquired in all semesters

Cumulative Grade Point Average
(CGPA) refers to the overall GPA,
which includes dividing the number
of quality points earned in all
courses attempted by the total credit
hours in all attempted courses.
FAILURE AND DISMISSAL
Students with extremely unsatisfactory academic performance will/can be dismissed from
his/her study. The status of Dismissed (D) that can be given to students include:

Table 2: Academic Status

Status Description

D1 a CGPA of less than 1.80

D2 a CGPA of less than 1.80 with P1 status

D3 a CGPA of less than 2.00 with P2 status

D4 Failed in a certain course for the third time

D5
a CGPA of less than 2.00 at the end of the maximum period of study and
still have courses which have not been completed

D6
Passed all courses required by a programme and fulfilled all the
requirements of the programme but acquired a CGPA of less than 2.00

D7
Did not sit for the examination of all the registered courses for that
semester without the approval of the University
EXERCISE 1
1. Calculate the GPA for Amelia Ameer for her first semester:

Course and Grade (1st Semester) Course Point Average

3.0 CONCLUSION

From first day I start learning UED102 class I was very curious about this subject and when I join this class and hear
explanation from my lecturer, Puan Lizawati Abdullah. I already understand why I have to take this subject, It is
because this subject was very importance. This subject teach student how to recognize our learning style, how to
manage time rightfully, how to taking lecture notes and many more. Our lecture, Puan Lizawati Abdullah was very
nice and polite, she give I many new knowledge.

Because this pandemic problem, I can’t go to campus and meet my friend but we get a great communication and
chemistry even we only get know each other thru media sosial. I was very lucky to get know them. We help each other
to finish our semester even it was quit difficult to us.
