What is the student learning goal(s) for this lesson idea?
Students will be able to experience how to use Padlet to do activities and use it for practice.
Therefore, students will be assessed while they do these activities on Padlet.

Identify one way you will promote student learning to a higher level of Bloom’s Critical Thinking
Levels with this lesson.

One way to promote higher level of critical thinking in students, I will ensure that they are able to
explore and be curious to be able to ask questions as to why plants need those needs from nature to
live.

How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

X  Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by
teacher direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

X  Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another

class, or publishing via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation: Teacher will add details and activities of the basic needs of the plants
onto the Web 2.0 tool Padlet. This tool will also be used by student to look back to and be able to
respond and answer questions provided by the teacher, and this would be a way for students to be
able to state what they have learned and be assessed by the teacher as well.
Managing student learning: Students will be able to be more comfortable and become active
learners through Padlet by being able to use their critical thinking to answer questions and
understand the basics of a plant. Therefore, the teacher will set a timer on the questions to make
students think more and could also be done with groups of 4 to promote kids to interact and be
social.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): An activity that will help students engage and show actions is
asking students to plant their own plant and allowing them to grow their plant to be able to see
what the basic need for their plant is once the stem, leaf, and flower are bloomed. Hands on
learning experience is the best way to promote students to be active. Teacher will promote an
environmental flexibility by allowing students to do this activity.
Reflective Practice:
Padlet will help students build understanding by applying practice and questions along with short
detail information about plants, that no other traditional tool can provide all in one. This tool can
help teachers assess students as their learn and answer questions, while also enjoying a different
learning format that they will use. I look forward to implementing plenty of fun activities for
students to experience through Padlet, because this format will help them stay engaged.
