LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be

able to:
1) read a set of phrases given for
 understanding and match them with the
meaning
2) make meaning of words describing
qualities using contextual clues.

ACTIVITIES: i. PRE-LESSON : 1.Pupils look at sets of phrases.

2.Pupils guess the meaning of the phrases.

ii. LESSON DEVELOPMENT : 1.Pupils look for words with similar meaning.
2.Pupils match the phrases with the meaning.
3.pupils check the answers with their partner
4.Pupils now compare their answers wth the
meanings the guessed earlier
5. Pupils read instruction for Activity 2.
6.A student is asked to explain the meaning of the
words,admire,admirable and qualities in his/her
own words.
7.Pupils listen to teachers explanation on previous
words.
8.Pupils read the list of qualities in the textbook.
9.Pupils complete the task in B
iii. POST-LESSON : 1.Pupils discuss the answers as a whole class.
