DiagnosticLink users: Please update the troubleshooting guides in DiagnosticLink with this newest version. To update the
tool troubleshooting guide, open DiagnosticLink and from the Help – Troubleshooting Guides menu, select the appropriate
troubleshooting manual, then click Update.
2. Start engine and check Low Pressure Pump Out (LPPO) fuel pressure. Is fuel pressure within specified range? Refer to
section "Normal Fuel System Pressures - Two-Filter System".
a. Yes; release vehicle.
b. No; Go to step 3.
3. Using Fuel Filter Module Inlet/Outlet Hoses (J-48707) and Fuel Flow Tool (J-48708-1), run the supply and return
lines to the Fuel Flow Tool. Prime the fuel system and start the engine. Is LPPO fuel pressure within specified range?
Refer to section "Normal Fuel System Pressures - Two-Filter System".
a. Yes; repair the restriction on the OEM fuel system.
b. No; Go to step 4.
4. Remove and inspect the two-stage valve. Refer to section "Removal of the Two-Stage Valve - Two-Filter System ".
Was damage found?
a. Yes; replace the two-stage valve. Refer to section "Installation of the Two-Stage Valve - Two-Filter System".
b. No; Go to step 5.
5. Remove and inspect the high pressure flange and all low pressure fuel lines. Refer to section "Removal of the High
Pressure Fuel Flange - Two-Filter System". Was damage or a restriction found?
a. Yes; replace damaged component.
b. No; replace fuel filter module. Refer to section "Removal of the Fuel Filter Module - Two-Filter System".
