How to Make: Spiral Staircase Bracelets

Spiral Staircase bracelets are quick and easy, and a beginner-level bracelet that’s fun for
everyone to make. They’re just one of the many ways to tie and customize threads to make your
own bracelet designs. It’s an easy way to make gifts for friends, family, and even yourself!

Supplies:
● DMC Cotton Embroidery Floss (Color One)
● DMC Cotton Embroidery Floss (Color Two)
● Scissors
● Tape (Optional)

Tips Before Beginning:

● Any colors can be used with a minimum of two
strings.
● The string is constantly knotted so shrinkage
occurs, so if you prefer a longer bracelet length
cut a longer string than recommended
• Make sure to pull tightly, so the bracelet is secure!

Let’s Start:
1. Begin by cutting 32 inches of string
2. Line the strings up so the ends match, and find the 16-inch mark of the strings and fold.
3. Create a loop knot with the folded strings, by folding the top arch of your folded strings in
a simple knot, as seen in the diagram below.

4. Tape the knot part only of the loop down to a flat surface.
5. Pull one individual string out to the left with your right handand hold the remaining strings
in your left hand.
6. Place the string in your right hand on the ones in your left so it looks like a four, and
wrap the string under the ones in your left and over the one you were holding in the right.
(See image below)

7. Now pull the individual string through to create a knot, while pulling on the strings still in
your left hand, to create a tight knot. (See image below)

8. Continue repeating the loop until you reach the desired

outcome of the first color

9. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the additional colors to create

patterns.

10. When finished, create an Overhand knot (see image to the

right) to complete the bracelet, by folding over the remaining
strings, creating a loop, and pulling tight.
