Write about the following topic:
Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society.
Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own
knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.

It is a widely held belief that parent should instruct the children in order to become
beneficial members of the community. However, there are those who believe that school
is more suitable to teach children. In my opinion, schools should consider this as their
responsibility instead of relying on parents to do this job.
To begin with, there are several reasons why assigning parents to teach their children
to be the good members of the society is supported by some people. Firstly, most of the
children mimic their parents’ activities and thus parents have a greater role in setting
good examples for their kids. For example, parents who regularly argue with others may
find that their child both imitate them and consider this bad practice as an ideal life tactic
to solve a disagreement. Secondly, parents are more close to children and they can teach
their kids the important aspects of being a good member of the society. For instance,
parents may teach their children and guide them to assist poor people by providing the
food prepared by their parents.
On the other hand, other people, myself included, totally agree that school is the right
place to learn how to be good members of the society. One of the reasons why this view
is held is that nowadays children are not having sufficient time to spend with their parents
because both of the parents might be employed or they may keep their child in a hostel.
Actually, in school children will learn the education - hence the school must also include
these qualities as a part of course structure so that the child may follow them. Besides, the
school also allows children to communicate with people from all walks of life, ranging
from their peers to dustmen or healthcare workers, from which there is a fair chance that
children will learn to behave with different types of people in an appropriate way.
In conclusion, although parents are important to the character formation of their
offspring, I believe that the school’s roles are much more significant.

People around the world are currently getting more obese, and they also have to face
with increasing health problems. This essay will shed light on the problem involved
before proposing possible solutions.
To begin with, there are several elements that cause health deterioration. Firstly,
individuals these days tend to eat too much fast food. This kind of food is extremely
convenient and time-saving, so people increasingly consume fast food despite knowing
its harmful effects. As a result, those diners who eat an excessive amount of fast food are
more likely to suffer from obesity or diabetes. Secondly, young people often lack
physical activities due to their limited free time. In this modern life, everyone is busy
working and therefore does not have enough time for exercises.
However, some viable solutions could be used to tackle these problems. First, the
government should limit the amount of fast food consumed. This can be done by
increasing tax rates on selling fast food or running advertising campaigns to raise
people’s awareness. The quality of fast food restaurants must also be controlled by the
authorities. Furthermore, citizens should be encouraged to exercise more. The
government needs to invest more money on constructing sports facilities or holding
sports competitions for non-professionals. For example, office workers might have more
incentive to play sports if they can win money from taking part in competitions.
In conclusion, the government should rise the tax of fast food and ecourage people to
work out more to reduce the obese rate and improve people ‘s health and fitness.
