VI. PROJECT PLAN OF IMPLEMENTATION........................................................8

I. PROJECT TITLE

The project proposed by the proponents is entitled.

“SEEDERS : Community Planting Project”

II. PROJECT OBJECTIVE

This project entitled “SEEDERS : Community Planting Project” aims to make a

planting area within the community so that the community can have a personal source of

fresh plantation from the farm plants and also the community can sell the plants obtained

from the farm as a source of income for the benefits of the community.

III. DATE IMPLEMENTATION

The target date of Implementation of “SEEDERS : Community Planting Project” is

within the first quarter of 2022

The proponents chose the first quarter of 2022 and not a Definitive Date Because in this

time of pandemic it is hard to do things because of the Quarantine and the Restrictions we

don't know when the COVID cases are going down and when they will come down

IV. RATIONALE

The proponents chose “SEEDERS : Community Planting Project” for the main

reason being one of the major problems of the Barangay Pinagbuhatan is flash floods

due to the lack of active drainages in the area. One of the possible solutions that this

community needs is planting and that is why we chose “SEEDERS : Community

Planting Project” because it will not only help Barangay Pinagbuhatan with their

flooding problem and it will give them vegetables to eat or to sell within the

community. It will also help to prevent things that cause flooding in the area and
other unforeseen events to make the situation of the people in the area lively. Other

benefits the project presents is to teach the community about the procedures of

planting which will help in the long term.

V. BACKGROUND OF THE LOCALE

Vision - A peaceful and progressive city where residents enjoy the best quality of life

possible through value-oriented and competent, expanded economic opportunities,

and efficient local government services in an environment characterized by a deep

sense of community awareness, malasakit and cooperation among all stakeholders

concerned.

Mission - To make available to all Pasiguenos relevant community-oriented

organization purposely designed to equip them with the competencies needed to

become responsible, productive, caring, patriotic, disciplined, God-loving and

globally-competitive professionals who willingly share responsibility in uplifting the

quality of life of the people in the community.

History – Barangay Pinagbuhatan is one of the barrios located on the Southern part

of Pasig City (District 2), Metropolitan Manila with boundaries that includes Palatiw,

Pasig City in the North, San Juan, Taytay Rizal in the South, Cainta, Rizal in the East

and Napindan, Taguig in the West. It is now divided into two, the Proper and

Nagpayong.

The Augustinians led by Fr. Alonzo de Alvarado and encomendero, Juan de la

Isla once reached the former town center through the riverside on 1572 and

established the first chapel-turned-church in Pasig, the San Sebastian Parish Church,

that was later moved on Malinao, Pasig City- popularly known as the Immaculate
Concepcion Cathedral due to the geographical location that was easily flooded during

rainy seasons. The shift of the ancient town center to Malinao is also strategic as the

former Bitukang Manok is near the place and so government was established as well

as churches and commerce.

The barangay formerly relied on the bounty of Pasig River as a source of

livelihood, transportation, water and food. It was also told by the elderly that the

barrio used to have rice fields. The community members per purok convert itself into

a vibrant place of merrymaking and festivities every 20th day of January or the

Pagoda as a tribute to the revered patron saint- San Sebastian that was also formerly

held on the river but was later shifted on the streets when the pollution become

dominant.

When it comes to educational institutions, the barangay offers two elementary

schools, two junior high schools and one senior high school; Pinagbuhatan

Elementary High School that is considered as the first institution opened in 1931 that

was destroyed during the Japanese Occupation during the 1940s, Pinagbuhatan High

School, Nagpayong Elementary School, Nagpayong High School that is consists of

Junior and Senior High School offerings.

The barangay used to be a market garbage dumpsite and was later on inhabited by

the people and so one can have a glimpse or idea with the housing initiatives and

problems in the community. Barangay Pinagbuhatan is also one of the barangays in

the entire country with a large sum of budget allocation as reported on the news.

As of today, the long running political family of the Asilo is still on power under

the leadership of Brgy. Captain Maricar Asilo-Vivero with the Barangay Kagawad
Zandro C. Asilo, Ramiro R. Cruz, Arcie V. Lucas, Rosalie Jose Umali, Luisito M.

Marteja, Edna F. Rentoza and Eram B. Monson Jr. III. When it comes to youth

leadership, the barangay do have Sangguniang Kabataan as the embodiment of the

youth headed by Ms. Lyka Cruz, together with Christian Joy Espiritu, Ian Bitancor,

Katrina Tolentino, Abigael Gendoma, Philip Pagdato, Miguel Nambatac, and Ejay

Estrellado, both helping one another in response to the current health crisis brought

by COVID-19.

With the following information in the different aspects of the community and its

manner or way of living, the community organizers will be able to have an initial idea

with how the community organizing will run.

Barangay population - According to the 2015 Census from PhilAtlus, the age group

with the highest population in Pinagbuhatan is 5 to 9, with 16,789 individuals.

Conversely, the age group with the lowest population is 80 and over, with 315

individuals.

Combining age groups together, those aged 14 and below, consisting of the young

dependent population which include infants/babies, children and young

adolescents/teenagers, make up an aggregate of 33.21% (50,468). Those aged 15 up

to 64, roughly, the economically active population and actual or potential members of

the workforce, constitute a total of 64.46% (97,963). Finally, the old dependent

population consisting of the senior citizens, those aged 65 and over, total 2.33%

(3,548) in all.

The computed Age Dependency Ratios mean that among the population of

Pinagbuhatan, there are 52 youth dependents to every 100 of the working age
population; there are 4 aged/senior citizens to every 100 of the working population;

and overall, there are 55 dependents (young and old-age) to every 100 of the working

population.
