GRUTAS DE TOLANTONGO

Hello! It is a pleasure to write to you again. I've still come back from a

beautiful place, its name is Grutas de Tolantongo. I have had an amazing time with my family there.

They are a set of caves and grottoes located in the municipality of Cardonal, in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico.
It has a main cave in which water flows towards the Tolantongo River, and there is also a smaller tunnel,
approximately 15 meters long, both in the same wall of the Barranca de Tolantongo. Hot springs flow from
the main grotto to the river, where two separate resorts meet; These have camping areas, several swimming
pools, restaurants, hotels, cabins, stores and recreation areas. The water in the caves comes from a complex
series of channels within the mountain that heats the water to around 20°C. Much of this water dwells in
niches in the rocky side of the ravine, which has a cooling effect. Another factor is that the water is mixed
with unheated water, the result is warm water mostly outside the caves and in the river itself. It stands out
for its light blue color as a result of a high content of mineral salts that it collects in his way up the mountain

Grutas Tolantongo aquatic park which is managed by the Cooperative Society Ejido de las Grutas de
Tolantongo, divided into two sections "Paraíso Escondido" and "La Gruta"; the cost of access allows entry to
both sections, certain services have a separate cost. Both sections have camping areas, changing rooms,
showers, restrooms, shops, and parking lots. Visitors can go hiking, rappelling, and caving. In the "Hidden
Paradise" section, there are 40 pools with hot springs, a pool with a slide, the so-called paradise tunnel, a
suspension bridge, a zip line, restaurants and a hotel. This hotel also offers cabins for rent. The zip line
allows you to travel up to 1890 meters. In the "La Gruta" section, you will find the main cave, the tunnels
inside the caves, the thermal water river, three pools, a wading pool, restaurants and three hotels.
