Dear Church family,

As you know, I am writing these lines from home as I recuperate. I am glad

the surgery part is finally over and now the hard part for me- waiting
patiently. Thank you church family for the prayers, cards and other words of
concern. I miss being with you.
I regret that I was not there for Vacation Bible School. I understand it went
well and a special thanks to all of you for giving of yourself for that week.
What a great opportunity you had to share the love of Jesus with those
children and youth.
It is amazing to think that in just a few days we will be into the month of July.
I hope you get an opportunity to relax and if possible go on some sort of
vacation this summer, but when you are in town please make every effort to
be present in worship and Bible study. Your church needs you and you need
your church.
On July 4th we have the chance to celebrate our freedom in this great nation
by celebrating Independence Day. I heard this the other day from a secular
setting, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” I am not
sure the person who said it understands the context of that verse of scripture, Inside this issue:
or even that it is a Bible verse. So, what is this freedom being talked about
here? More importantly, how can we attain true freedom? To fully understand
the context of John 8:32, we need to continue and read the following verses –

– especially John 8:36 “If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, you shall be Pastor’s Remarks
free indeed.” The truth is, true freedom can only be found in Christ. And what

John 8:36 is saying, if the Son, meaning Jesus, will set us free, then we shall

be freed. Why? Jesus Christ has always been God’s answer to our loss of
freedom. This just means that without Jesus, without accepting Him as our

Lord and personal Savior, we can never attain true freedom. Yes, we might July Birthdays
experience some kind of freedom, but this is only temporal. Without Jesus,
we will always be doomed to experience chaos, disorder, injustice, and many FBC Ministry 4
more. So, true freedom as defined by the Bible can only be found in Christ. Service Schedules
And we, as God’s people, should always seek Christ to experience freedom A Prayer for America
from all things chaotic –– freedom from things that will keep us away from
God. So, as we celebrate our country’s freedom we can and should celebrate
the freedom our faith has to offer.

Sundays at 9:45 a.m. for one hour. Life Groups provide fellowship (connecting with others), Bible
study (growing with God), and learning to serve others (ministry).

Life Group classes build relationships in a ministry environment of grace, acceptance, support,
and encouragement.

A Prayer for America, Almighty God

In all history, there has been only one nation like America,
founded by pilgrims seeking freedom to worship.
We are one Nation under God.
You have delivered us in war, prospered us in
peace, and raised up generations willing to offer the
last full measure of their devotion for the preservation
of liberty at home and abroad. We have been a
light for the world. From our shores has gone the
greatest missionary force in history.
But now, Lord, America has fallen into darkness,
disobedience, and indifference. We have sinned; and we,
Your people, Lord, humble ourselves, and pray and seek
Your face, and turn from our wicked ways.
Please forgive our sin and heal our land.
May the torch of liberty burn brightly, inflamed by the goodness of your people.
