SCRIPT FOR THE 125TH ANNIVERSARY OF DR.

JOSE RIZAL’S
MARTYRDOM

(Requesting everyone to convene for we are about to start the program OR

(1. Today is the day that we always commemorate the Death Anniversary of our
Philippine National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. As we celebrate this momentous event, let us
rise and give a loud but solemn TAPS, a sound of melancholy and languid form of
respect to the noble martyrdom of our dear Philippine National Hero; and
2. Requesting the Philippine National Police to execute the GUN SALUTE, as a symbol
of bestowing great honor to one of our National Heroes, Dr. Jose Rizal, that lead the
Philippine country to its freedom from tyranny.)

3. May I request everyone to please rise for the singing of the Philippine National
Anthem to pay homage to our Philippine National Flag, the symbol of Filipino Patriotism
and please do remain standing for the invocation to ask the PEACE AND
PROTECTION of our Almighty God.

A pleasant day to everyone. Welcome to the 125 th Martyrdom Anniversary of Dr. José
Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda with the Theme: “RIZAL: PARA SA
AGHAM, KATOTOHANAN, AT BUHAY”.

4. Pursuant to Proclamation No. 126 of 2001 that December 30 of every year is

declared as the Death Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal, our Philippine National Hero. By
this, it is more given a historical significance to His martyrdom symbolizing his great
love for the country and recalls the reason why he willingly gave up his life for the
nation.
Dr. Jose Rizal is not just a Hero but a significant representation of love for country and
people, promotion of international understanding, veneration of noble ideals, valuing
honor, strife to do justice, finding purposeful meaning of life, upholding freedom,
maintaining tolerance and understanding attitude, believing in value of education,
promoting social justice and general welfare, a model of industriousness, self- reliance,
perseverance, truth, honesty in thoughts, words and deeds.
By these wonderful representations, we are glad that we have such a noble hero that
leads us to freedom from tyranny. And at this moment, we, the Katipuneros are gladly
offering our wreath of Love, Honor and Respect to our Philippine National Hero, Dr.
Jose Rizal. May I request everyone to fall in line for our wreath offering, the sequence
as follows: First in line, we have the Municipal Mayor’s Office, then followed by…
