4. Our work day is generally from 8am EST to 5pm EST Monday through Friday. We do not require
full time shifting, but you would need to provide us with at least 6 hours of availability during

6. The attachments include PDFs and AutoCAD versions of a backyard design that is very typical of
the type of projects we are estimating every day. There is no requirement to open the AutoCAD
file if you don’t have software that supports it. Here is a 3D video to help understand the details

7. Your task is to create an Excel spreadsheet that can be used to estimate this project. The first
sheet of the workbook will be for the take-offs from the design. Review the designs and
complete a take-off of all the different pool and landscape features in the backyard. You will
need to try and make accurate guesses as to which features are priced per square foot, per
linear foot, or per unit.
8. The second sheet of the workbook will be the actual estimate. Use these items/work areas and
the quantities from your take off to create an estimate. Use whatever formulas you are
comfortable with. The cost of these features isn’t important, so just guess. Add as much detail as
you think appropriate showing your knowledge to the materials or construction techniques that
we might use.
9. The third sheet of the workbook should act as a summary page that totals all pool features and
all landscape features separately and then applies 13% sales tax. Please list payment terms of
25% deposit, 50% on start of work and balance on completion and have these amounts shown.

BONUS – optional to complete – Deck and structure: Include the wood deck on the back of the
house as well as the cabana/pergola structure in your take-off, estimate, and summary. Make
assumptions for items/finishes/processes in the construction of these features.
