SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS-7

February 7-11, 2022

CONTENT STANDARD:
The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of geometry of shapes and sizes,
and geometric relationships.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
The learner is able to create models of plane figures and formulate and solve accurately
authentic problems involving sides and angles of a polygon
LEARNING COMPETENCY:
o represents point, line and plane using concrete and pictorial models. M7GE-IIIa-1
o illustrates subsets of a line. M7GE-IIIa-2
o classifies the different kinds of angles. M7GE-IIIa-3
I. Objectives
At the end of the week, you shall have
1. identified point, line and plane given concrete and pictorial models;
2. classified different kinds of angles;
3. named the different subsets of a line;
4. drawn the different subsets of a line; and
5. appreciated the value of points, lines, planes and angles in reallife situations.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Steps in Solving Problems Involving Algebraic Expressions and Differentiating Algebraic
Expressions, Equations and Inequalities
References: Mathematics – Grade 7 Learner’s Material
Materials: LAS
Strategy: Discussion
III. Learning Activities/Procedure

A. ACTIVITY
Monday: Let the students read the Lesson Overview about “*Points, Lines, Planes
and Angles”
Tuesday / Wednesday:
A. The teacher will have an online engagement through class group chat messenger
to help the learners learn and answer activity 1 -3.
B. The teacher will have a Q and A with the learners and will also answer some
clarifications from the learners on the different parts of the module that needs
additional explanation.
Thursday: The students will continue answering remaining unanswered activities 1-3
Friday: Students will answer Formative Test
Refer Activities to be answered on the given LAS.

B. ANALYSIS

 What did you feel about the activity?

 What are the undefined terms in Geometry?
 What are the different kinds of angles and subsets of a line?
 How will you construct the subsets of a line using a protractor?
 How will you use the knowledge you gained about points, lines, planes and angles in
dealing reallife situations.?
ABSTRACTION

There are three basic terms in geometry which we refer to as undefined terms. These
are point, line, and plane. We classify these as undefined terms because the definitions of
these terms are not precise. Instead, we use representations to describe them.
A segment is a subset of a line. The length of the segment is the distance between its
endpoints.
Angles are classified according to their measurement. A protractor is used to measure
angles. An angle’s unit of measurement is in degrees ( ).
We can classify angles into four, namely: acute angle, right angle, obtuse angle, and
straight angle.
How to use Protractor:
1. Place the center point of the protractor on the vertex of the angle to be measured.
2. Make sure that the mark labeled 0 on either score is placed on one side of the angle.
3. Read the scale where the other side of the angle falls.

IV. APPLICATION/EVALUATION

Directions: Choose the letter of the correct answer.

1. Which of the following is an undefined term in geometry?

a. angle b. line segment c. plane d. ray
2. Which is a subset of a line that has two endpoints?
a. angle b. line c. line segment d. ray
3. Which is a subset of a line that has one endpoint and extends indefinitely on
one side?
a. angle b. line c. line segment d. ray
0
4. Which is an angle whose measure is exactly 90 ?
a. acute angle c. right angle
b. obtuse angle d. straight angle
For nos. 5, refer to the figure below.
