1. Place the reference instrument’s sensor alongside the incubator’s Pt100 sensor.
2. Disconnect the AL01-06/07 from the facility-side mains supply.
3. Open the controller housing (see chap. 4.6, page 20).
4. Disconnect the Pt100 wires from the spring terminal of the controller board (A, see Figure 6 on
page 20)
5. Connect the Pt100 wires to the resistance measuring device (Ohm meter). Compare the measured
resistance value to the values given in Table 2 (page 30) at the end of this chapter and assess if it
is situated inside the indicated tolerance bandwidth. If not, the Pt100 sensor is defective and must
be replaced. If no replacement is required, follow steps 1. to 5. in reverse order.
6. Remove the upper hinge cover (A).
7. Remove the screws (E) which fix the door panel (D).
8. Lift the door panel (D) out of the door housing (B) and disconnect the ground cable.
9. Remove the rock wool from the outer door.
10.Remove the rear panel (see chap. 4.8 on page 22).
11.Cut the rock wool with the knife at the point (G) where the Pt100 temperature sensor (H) is placed.
12.Pull the Pt100 temperature sensor (H) through the duct (G) out of the inner chamber.
13. Cut all lacings cords which attach the Pt100 cable (I) to other cables.
14.Pull the Pt100 cable (I) carefully out of the unit from the rear.
15.Introduce the new Pt100 temperature sensor with its cable from the front through the hinge until
you can take it from the rear.
16.Mount the new Pt100 temperature sensor by following steps 1. to 10. in reverse order.
17.Seal the cut in the rock wool with aluminum scotch tape.
18.Calibrate and adjust the controller (see description in the user manual)

The measured resistance value [Ω] should correspond to the temperature value measured with the
reference instrument, within a tolerance range of +/-3 Ω. This tolerance can be assumed if the
accuracy of the temperature reference measuring device is at least 2 degrees and the accuracy of the
employed resistance testing unit is at least 2 Ω. With less accuracy, consider the respective tolerances
of these devices.
Remark: This is a rough test meant to decide whether to replace the Pt100 sensor or not. If you note a
deviation from the expected value given in Table 2 which is less than +/-3 Ω, this may be due to the
incertitude of the measuring equipment. In order to be sure that there is no deviation, you can calibrate
the controller (see description in the user manual).
